The Chicago Bears look to extend their winning ways as they prepare for their Week 11 road matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. D’Andre Swift is dealing with a hip injury that limited his practice time on Wednesday. Will fantasy football managers have the Bears running back available this week?
D’Andre Swift Injury Update
Update:Â Swift upgraded to full on Thursday and will play this week.
Swift returned last week after a one-game absence and looked as healthy as ever while playing through his groin injury. That issue now appears to be behind him, as he reclaimed the No. 1 running back role against the Giants en route to 18 touches for 98 yards from scrimmage.
But of course, Swift has a new injury to manage. He was limited at Wednesday’s practice with a hip injury. Swift previously was dealing with a groin issue that caused him to sit out Week 9 at Cincinnati, but he was able to return this past Sunday without issue.
It would be nice if, at some point, Swift was no longer on the injury report every week. Swift has been playing through injuries for most of the 2025 season, consistently appearing on the injury report. But he continues to be a warrior and plays through his various ailments, rarely missing time despite recurring discomfort.
Swift, DJ Moore, and Rome Odunze almost never practice in full on Wednesdays. They typically get the day off entirely as part of the Bears’ maintenance program for their key offensive weapons. The fact that Swift practiced at all on Wednesday is a great sign for his availability.
The Wednesday practice participation is particularly encouraging news because it’s been weeks since Swift has practiced on a Wednesday at all. Throughout the season, Swift has routinely appeared as a DNP on Wednesday injury reports before returning Thursday as a limited participant. The fact that he got on the field Wednesday suggests he’s feeling better than he has in quite some time.
Fantasy managers should not be concerned about Swift’s availability and should expect him to play this week against Minnesota.

Kyle Monangai following Cole Kmet into the end zone from eight yards out was frustrating, but it was Swift out there to start the game, it was Swift with the edge in red zone touches for the game, and it was Swift with an 8-1 advantage in targets.
The involvement in the passing game is what most interests me given how this offense is opening up and why I think he has nothing to worry about when it comes to work.
Chicago has scored 24+ points in six of their past seven games, thus making this a favorable environment for all of their regulars. The schedule does the Bears no favors moving forward, and while I think that could cap his upside, 15+ touches for a versatile player at the center of a Ben Johnson offense is enough for me to lock in Swift every week in which he is healthy.
