CeeDee Lamb just posted his weakest full season since his rookie year, which is enough to give any fantasy manager pause. A closer look at how that average got dragged down tells a more forgiving story. The bigger question is what his ceiling actually looks like now that he shares a field with another alpha. Fantasy managers picking late in the first round have a real decision on their hands.
Should You Draft CeeDee Lamb in Fantasy Football?
In PFN’s Free Fantasy Mock Draft Simulator, CeeDee currently has an ADP of 11.8. It’s a late first-rounder or an early second-rounder depending on how many people are in your league. PFN’s fantasy football experts Jason Katz and Kyle Soppe have him as the 13th overall player in fantasy football and the WR7 this year, with a projected 16.43 points per game in PPR formats.
CeeDee is an interesting case because he’s been very productive throughout his time in Dallas. With Dak Prescott, they’re going to throw the ball a lot in Dallas. The Cowboys have pretty consistently been a pass-heavy team, especially last year.
But it remains to be seen how CeeDee is going to do over a full season with George Pickens in the mix. Pickens was extremely productive when CeeDee was gone, but even when CeeDee was available, Pickens was eating into those targets and touches. Last season, CeeDee had 75 catches for 1,077 yards and only 3 touchdowns. It’s also worth noting, though, that he’s had 5 consecutive years with over 1,000 receiving yards.
I think CeeDee is absolutely worth taking in the second round. But very early in the second round, when someone like George Pickens is threatening his touches, I’d probably stay away at that current ADP. If you can get him anywhere from 15 onward, I think that CeeDee would be a good value. But if you’re taking him around that 11 or 12 range, I think there’s a little bit of a risk attached. I’m going to say no to taking CeeDee at his current ADP.

This is the fourth straight season in which the ’Boys and Giants play in September, and their WR1 has gotten the best of the matchup on a regular basis.
2022: 12 targets, 8 catches, 87 yards, TD
2023: 4 targets, 4 catches, 77 yards
2024: 8 targets, 7 catches, 98 yards, TD
2025: 11 targets, 9 catches, 112 yards
Do you need that data to feel good about plugging in the All-Pro? Probably not, but I like giving it out as a reminder that when this dude is at full strength, there’s little that can be done to defend him.
The weekly floor is lower than in years past because of the presence of Pickens, but to that point, the overall offensive environment is that much more potent, and that means an increase in per-target value for all involved.
