Brock Purdy’s fantasy football managers are holding their breath as his return to the field remains uncertain. The San Francisco 49ers quarterback continues to battle a lingering issue that’s proven tougher to shake than expected. Head coach Kyle Shanahan hinted that the team will need to manage this situation carefully over the long haul.
With another crucial week approaching, fantasy players are left wondering if Purdy will finally make his comeback or stay sidelined just a bit longer.
Brock Purdy Injury Update
Purdy has not been back on the field since re-injuring his turf toe injury in Week 4 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. San Francisco 49ers’ head coach Kyle Shanahan admitted after Week 9 that the injury will be one that Purdy and the team will be forced to manage throughout the season.
Purdy has been gradually ramping up and logging limited practices, but has not healed enough to return to the field. Week 10 will provide him with another opportunity to demonstrate that he has sufficiently healed to return. Mac Jones will continue to start until Purdy is cleared to play.

Purdy Fantasy Outlook
Purdy (toe) continues to rehab an injury that has limited him to two games so far, both of which saw plenty of good (293 passing yards and two pass TDs per game) and plenty of bad (multiple INTs in both with just a 57.9% completion rate in his last start).

This is a talented roster, but health has been scarce for all involved. Until all parties are aligned, I can’t justify moving forward until we know that he is fully healthy.
During the fantasy postseason, the 49ers get the Titans and Bears at home in addition to a road game against the high-flying Colts. Purdy is rosterable right now in all formats, but I won’t be playing him this week should he make his much-awaited return.
