It is difficult to feel much conviction regarding Breece Hall this season. Offensive limitations have hindered his production throughout his entire career, and that trend projects to continue in 2026.
Should You Draft Breece Hall in Fantasy Football?
Hall is one of the most polarizing running backs in the NFL, and especially in the fantasy space.
Hall has an ADP of 31.4, which would place him at RB16. PFN’s fantasy analysts Jason Katz and Kyle Soppe are slightly higher on him, averaging out to an RB15 placement. On Katz’s ranking, he’s 35th overall among players. In Soppe’s ranking, he’s 43rd overall, for an average of 39th overall.
Recently, Hall has been reported to be dealing with a groin injury, but is expected to be ready for the team’s season debut against the Titans. He benefits from having one of the better up-and-coming offensive lines in the league, with Armand Membou and Olu Fashanu, both 1st-round investments, and the recently extended Joe Tippmann, who’s becoming one of the better guards in the league as well.
But ultimately, the causes for reservation are in the stats and the analytics with Hall. Unfortunately, he has a career touchdown percentage of just 2.4% on carries. Since his rookie season, he’s generated a negative cumulative rushing EPA, which is not a promising sign for future development.
But he has consistently played with Jets teams that have played from behind often, meaning they have to pass more, and they haven’t had good passing games to begin with. You don’t have that balance to the offense, and a lot more is on Hall’s plate when they do need to produce. It’s uncertain whether the latter will improve with Geno Smith at the helm in 2026. He wasn’t very good in 2025, but the team’s weapons have improved. They got Omar Cooper Jr. and Kenyon Sadiq in Round 1 of the 2026 NFL Draft cycle. The hope is that by preserving that balance and improving the offensive line with young talent, Hall can improve his efficiency by and large.
That said, the role in the offense as a volume runner is solidified when healthy, and especially factoring in Hall’s recent extension. He is a consistent presence on passing downs as well, which insulates his value a little bit.
Overall, here’s my view on Hall. He is a steady and dependable back, but he has relatively lesser explosive scoring potential as a fantasy asset. I would definitely consider him, and a positive touchdown regression is more than possible in 2026.
But if I can get, say, Quinshon Judkins, D’Andre Swift, or TreVeyon Henderson 15 to 20 picks later, I personally would opt for that. If you want dependability and consistency at the running back position, then Hall is the one for you. But he is a relatively unspectacular asset that also risks once again being hamstrung by a below-average passing attack in New York.

Breece Hall’s Week 1 Fantasy Outlook

Here’s a fun split for you to bring up at the Week 1 watch party when your friends ask you why you want to have the Jets/Titans on a TV.

I like this game for one reason and one reason only: it’s a chance to see the stars shine. It’s going to be rare that either of these teams is in competitive games that allow for that to happen in an honest way, so yeah, I’m excited to see what happens in this spot.
I haven’t yet decided how to best do it (it hinges more on the lineup construction that I land on, and you can see that in our FREE fantasy/betting newsletter that releases four times a week), but I’m going to have a skinny stack in this game with a player from both sides.
Hall is talented enough to be in consideration for that, though I currently project the Titans to win and thus am leaning in favor of their running game. Tennessee’s defense isn’t bad, and in terms of yards allowed per carry before contact to running backs, it was actually the best in the sport (35.2% better than league average).
Hall can beat any defense with enough bites at the apple, and I expect that to be the case this weekend. I have him ranked as an RB1 for Sunday and already have him penciled in as a sell-high candidate.
It’ll be easy. You sell your opposition on his raw talent and maybe even average offensive support. You get the highlight tape from this weekend and run it on a loop.
This is a player that has the potential to be a top-10 running back for the season from a talent perspective; that’s not in question.
It’s also not the question we are asking.
There are no points awarded for talent, and if/when this offense becomes predictable due to game script (three straight games against the offensively charged NFC North certainly could cause that once we put a bow on Week 1), we are at risk of it being a coin flip if he’s a viable RB2 (8 games last season as a top-24 option and 8 outside of that).
Start him this week and sell him for a WR2 that you could see sustaining WR1 production next week.
