Only five tight ends scored more than 10 fantasy points in full-PPR formats in Week 1, which makes this position a bit tricky to sort out after a confusing start to the new season.
Here is a closer look at my fantasy football TE rankings for Week 2 of the 2024 NFL season.

The Top TEs To Start in Week 1
Kyle Pitts, TE, Atlanta Falcons
Kyle Pitts truthers can feel free to stand up after the Florida product scored the lone touchdown for the Atlanta Falcons season-opening loss at the hands of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Sure, the numbers outside of his score weren’t anything special, but he did catch all three of his targets for 26 yards in an overall rough outing for the Falcons offense in Kirk Cousins’ debut with the team.
Things should get a bit friendlier against a Philadelphia Eagles defense that allowed 410 total yards (third-most in the league) and 251 passing yards (seventh-most in the league) in Week 1 against the Green Bay Packers.
Obviously, the Falcons’ offense will need to play better for Pitts to build upon his subpar receiving totals from Week 1, but this matchup against a high-powered Eagles offense who play at one of the fastest paces in the league should generate more chances for Pitts to be a focal point of a passing attack that will need to put up points to avoid starting 0-2 on the year.
Brock Bowers, TE, Las Vegas Raiders
After months of fantasy pundits trying to push a generational talent like Brock Bowers down the board with concerns about snap percentage and run blocking concerns alongside Michael Mayer entering his rookie year — the rookie’s usage in his pro debut should put to rest any concerns that he won’t be a focal point of this passing attack in 2024.
Bowers’ Week 1 Stats (Positional Rank)
- Routes: 31 (seventh)
- Receptions: six (second)
- Yards: 58 (second)
- Targets: eight (third)
- Yards per Route Run: 1.87 (third among TEs with 20+ routes run)
- Fantasy Finish: TE3 overall in full-PPR formats
Additionally, Bowers saw eight more snaps than Mayer, which included just one fewer snap as an inline tight end.
Remember that this was Bowers’ first game of his NFL career. Is it not possible, if not probable, that his role will actually expand as the season progresses?
Bowers managed to do some of this damage against one of the best safeties in the league in Derwin James Jr. in his pro debut.
Bowers is for real, and we are looking at a top-five fantasy finish in his rookie year if he continues to see this type of volume in the passing game throughout the rest of the season.
