The fantasy basketball season continues to move forward, and managers are preparing for a new week. So, which players stand out as the best streaming options for the upcoming week?
Ty Jerome, Memphis Grizzlies
The Grizzlies have four games this week. Memphis will host the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday night before playing road games against the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday and the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday and Saturday.
While the Timberwolves are a good defensive team, the Kings and Trail Blazers are both in the bottom half of the league in defensive rating. Sacramento has one of the NBA’s worst defenses.
With Ja Morant injured, Ty Jerome should see quality playing time. Jerome is currently rostered in less than 40 percent of leagues.
He recently made his season debut and scored 20 points in a 131-114 loss to the Timberwolves. Monday’s rematch should give Jerome another chance to succeed. The same can be said for the rest of the week.
Kelly Oubre Jr., Philadelphia 76ers
Kelly Oubre and the 76ers have four games this week. All four contests are on the road, but that should not stop fantasy basketball managers from adding Oubre. Philadelphia will play the Clippers, Warriors, Lakers, and Suns this week.
The Warriors and Suns are in the top half of the league in defensive rating, while the Clippers and Lakers are in the bottom half. Four games could lead to a strong fantasy week for Oubre. Additionally, Oubre is on track to receive more minutes following Paul George’s recent suspension.
Overall, Oubre is averaging 14.2 points and 4.7 rebounds per outing across 26 games played. Fantasy managers will need to act fast, as Oubre is rostered in around half of leagues at the moment.
Tari Eason, Houston Rockets
The Rockets are another squad with a four-game week. They play the Pacers on the road on Monday before returning home to host the Celtics and Hornets. Houston will then conclude the week with a game on Saturday in Oklahoma City against the Thunder.
The OKC matchup will be a challenge, and Boston has a respectable defense, but the Hornets and Pacers are in the bottom half of the NBA in defensive rating.
Tari Eason, rostered in under 40 percent of leagues, has played well recently. He is averaging 12.1 points per outing on 46.3 percent field goal and 47.9 percent three-point shooting overall this season, and he has scored 17 points in two of his past three games played.
Jarace Walker, Indiana Pacers
The Pacers will play four games this week. Indiana is set to begin the week with home matchups against the Rockets and Jazz before heading on the road to play the Bucks and Raptors. The Celtics and Raptors have good defenses. The Bucks have struggled defensively, though, while the Jazz have the worst defensive rating in the NBA.
Jarace Walker is a candidate for deeper leagues. He is rostered in only about 10 percent of leagues as of the time this story was written. His overall numbers don’t jump off the page, but Walker has scored double-digit points in each of his past five games. He’s also been efficient from the field and could find more success in the coming weeks.
Jay Huff, Indiana Pacers
As mentioned, the Pacers have a favorable fantasy basketball schedule this week.
Similar to Walker, Jay Huff is not rostered in many leagues. In fact, he is currently rostered at around 9%.
However, Huff has scored double-digit points in each of his past two outings. He is fresh off a 16-point performance in a 129-124 win over the Atlanta Hawks. Huff is also a guy who can help out in the rebounding and blocking department.
Huff has quietly been one of the better shot-blockers in the league, as he is averaging 2.0 blocks per outing.
