The Kansas City Chiefs made another deep run last season but came up short against the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl. They were trying to become the first team in NFL history to win three Super Bowls in a row. With the NFL schedule now out, some fans are frustrated with how often the Chiefs will play in primetime.
The Chiefs have become one of the league’s biggest draws, and they’re making history with five primetime games in the first eight weeks of the season. They’ll play the Los Angeles Chargers in Brazil in Week 1, then appear on Sunday Night Football in Week 3 against the New York Giants and Week 6 against the Detroit Lions. They’re also set for Monday Night Football in Week 5 against the Jacksonville Jaguars and Week 8 against the Washington Commanders.
On top of that, they’ll also play on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. That means fans will see them on national TV a lot. Some are excited about it—others, not so much. Here’s a look at how fans are reacting to the Chiefs’ early primetime schedule.
Kansas City Chiefs Have Record Amount of Primetime Games Early in 2025 NFL Season
The Chiefs are one of the most polarizing teams in the National Football League, similar to the New England Patriots during their dynasty. Dov Kleiman pointed out on X that the Chiefs are playing in a record number of primetime games early this season, and some fans voiced their disapproval.
“The majority of people outside of Kansas City hate the Chiefs, yet they get five prime time games in eight weeks?? Dallas sucks but they have fans all over the country and would pull bigger numbers. Kansas City Chiefs fatigue is real.” One person wrote under Dov’s post
