The NFL debuted a new line of jerseys during the 2025 offseason, calling it the Nike Rivalries collection. The franchises in the NFC West and AFC East will be the first eight teams to receive the new jerseys in 2025, and the Arizona Cardinals will be the first to don the new uniforms in Week 4 on Thursday Night Football against the Seattle Seahawks.
NFL Fans Roast Arizona Cardinals’ Nike Rivalries Uniform
Arizona chose an all-white base with texture to represent sand and dust storms for its “Built to Last” jersey, which are common weather patterns in the state. The numbers and pant stripes have a metallic copper element, representing the state’s metal.
While the collection is aimed at giving teams and fans a new set of gear to represent the franchise, fans quickly took to social media to poke fun at the new threads, with this fan labeling them, “The Tortilla Jerseys.”

This fan took the joke even further, responding to the original post by saying, “@MySportUpdate Hope they brought the beef with the Diablo sauce,” referencing the popular Taco Bell condiment.

The tortilla similarities seemed to be the common sentiment, as this fan didn’t need any words to prove his point, simply posting a side-by-side comparison of a tortilla with a portion of the jersey next to it.

While the comparison does make some sense under the picture’s lighting, not everyone agrees that the new jerseys are a dud after seeing them in action on Thursday Night Football. One fan said, “These Cardinals uniforms are fire 🔥.”

When paired with the white pants and helmet with the red-outlined Cardinal, the first rendition of the Nike Rivalries uniforms doesn’t appear as bad as some fans make it out to be.
Ironically, the Seahawks, who Arizona is playing in Week 4, will wear their “High-Decibel Zone” Nike Rivalry uniform this season, but not until the Week 16 Thursday Night Football matchup against the Los Angeles Rams.
The Miami Dolphins will be the next team to wear a Nike Rivalry jersey when they don the “Dark Waters” threads at home on Monday Night against the New York Jets in Week 4. The Jets will also wear theirs against Miami, but not until they host the Dolphins at MetLife Stadium in Week 14. You can see where the rest of the jerseys will be worn here.
