The Kyle Pitts and Atlanta Falcons experience has not been a nightmare, but fans are calling for a trade after the latest assessment of the team’s tight end.
Falcons offensive coordinator Zac Robinson went viral for his comments on Pitts and what the team is looking for with the upcoming season, with fans of all teams agreeing that a trade is what’s best for Pitts at this point in time.
Zac Robinson Doesn’t Hold Back on Kyle Pitts
Robinson is entering his second season as the offensive coordinator in Atlanta. He recently talked about his young tight end during a media appearance with reporters on May 22.
When asked about Pitts, the 38-year-old coach didn’t mince words, saying: “For Kyle it’s just how can you take that next step up. Next level of details, next level of consistency that we’ve talked about with him and in the past. He’s in year two of the system and we’ve always talked about is playing fast.
“That’s more about what we’re looking for with Kyle is the next level of understanding of the offense and just the intent of what we’re trying to get done and ultimately just play fast no matter what.”

Robinson’s words may seem harsh, but Pitts hasn’t exactly lived up to the hype after going fourth overall in the 2021 NFL Draft. He was supposed to be a real playmaker for Atlanta and matchup nightmare, but the fifth-year tight end is still developing.
With “playing fast” as the main priority, fans know that it’s clear he isn’t a priority on this team. One fan said, “They should just trade him a let another team develop him”, as it’s clear that the Falcons aren’t taking the time to develop Pitts into what could be a phenomenal tight end.
Even after a Super Bowl, Eagles fans want more, “Pitts for a late round pick @Eagles”. Someone called out the team as they, “Should’ve never drafted him to begin with”. As a Cowboys fan got into the mix, “Cowboys need to trade a 4th round pick for him.”
For whatever reason, the Falcons seem dead set on keeping Pitts on their roster. They could easily get a late round pick, or even ask for slightly more from a struggling, desperate team. The trade market could be robust despite Pitts’ stunted development, with a few would-be prognosticators on social media sending him to the Chiefs.
“Kyle pitts is destined to end up with Patrick Mahomes, idk why but I feel that happening” this fan speculated with another adding, “He’d be a good Kelce replacement tbh”.
With Kelce’s career winding down, there could be an opening in Kansas City. The Jaguars have also been mentioned as a landing spot, at least from one hopeful Jacksonville fan.
It’s clear that all options are on the table, but it’s hard to see Kyle Pitts being traded at this point, even with the harsh words thrown his way from the team’s offensive coordinator.
