The Falcons finished 8-9, tied in record with the Panthers and Buccaneers atop the NFC South, but landed third in the standings once tiebreakers were applied. In effect, the team enjoyed a mediocre season. Penix tore an ACL, ending his season. Veteran Kirk Cousins left for Las Vegas.
In his stead, the team signed Tagovailoa, but he’s also sidelined to start camp. Now, Cooper Rush heads to Flowery Branch. The reaction from social media did not disappoint.
