F1 Fans Erupt After Sky Sports Drops ‘Absolutely Ridiculous’ Driver Rankings for 2025

What did fans have to say about four of Sky Sports' top analysts' 2025 driver rankings? Find out more about their comments here.

The 2025 F1 season might be over, but the drama is far from the same. Here in the aftermath of the campaign, fans and analysts like to reflect on and assess the year’s action. And one of the top conversations is which driver outranked the others.

Sky Sports published four of its analysts’ 2025 driver rankings. However, fans weren’t too pleased.

Fans Bash Top Sky Sports Analysts’ 2025 F1 Driver Rankings

Ted Kravitz, Bernie Collins, Karun Chandhok, and Simon Lazenby gave their rankings of the best drivers of 2025. Max Verstappen notably dominated the top of their lists, given the 100-point comeback he made this season to put himself in title contention in Abu Dhabi.

McLaren’s Oscar Piastri, interestingly, made it to the top of Collins’s list. At the same time, a mix of Lando Norris and George Russell comprised the rest of the “podium” positions on the analysts’ lists.

Ferrari star Charles Leclerc only reached as high as fifth in any of the rankings. The Monegasque team notoriously struggled in the SF-25 this year, and many fans believe he earned a higher spot for the performance he extracted from the car.

One fan tweeted that Leclerc performed on Verstappen’s level with the performance he got out of the SF-25: “Charles Leclerc not making the Top 3 is absolutely ridiculous… In terms of extracting the best out of the given machinery, Charles was right up there with Max, considering how messed up the Ferrari was.”

Another fan echoed the sentiment, believing the Ferrari driver should be right behind Verstappen: “Bro, he’s not even top 7 on one of the list, definitely top 3 and imo second behind Max.”

One user claimed the Sky Sports analysts are biased, writing, “They know that deep down in their heart, they just refuse to acknowledge it publicly. These people are either stupid or biased.”

Collins faced the most fury for her list, which had Piastri in first, Norris in second, and Verstappen in third. She was also the only one to rank Ollie Bearman ahead of Isack Hadjar. “Bernie must’ve been trippin’ hard on those rankings lol,” a user tweeted.

Another fan came down hard on Aston Martin’s former head of race strategy, saying, “Bernie Collins should be fired for her top 10 LMFAO.”

One user gave a breakdown of the lists, highlighting Aston Martin veteran Fernando Alonso’s absence: “Do these people live in a parallel universe? This must be bait… – Where is Fernando Alonso? Top 5 driver MINIMUM… – Antonelli had a great car but was not a top 10 driver this year… – How is Hulkenberg above Alonso?… – Hadjar so overrated.”

How the ranked drivers fare next season will be interesting to watch. There’ll be new regulations, new teams, and new action to unpack.
