Who Is Ryan Ramczyk? Examining the 3-Time All-Pro’s 8-Year NFL Career, Stats, College, Age, and More

Exploring the career of the New Orleans Saints 2025 NFL Draft Round 2 guest announcer Ryan Ramczyk.

The 2025 NFL Draft will be held in Green Bay, Wisconsin. In keeping with recent tradition, the Packers will have the most guest announcers for draft picks. However, other teams will be sending either a current or former player to make a pick for them in the second or third round.

That includes the New Orleans Saints, who will be sending a fan favorite.

Who Is Former Saints OT Ryan Ramczyk?

According to a post on X from Adam Schefter, the Saints decided to send former offensive tackle Ryan Ramczyk.

A product of Wisconsin, Ramczyk was a standout in college. He initially played for the UW-Stevens Point intercollegiate team, affiliated with the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. He transferred to Wisconsin and played for the Badgers in 2015 and 2016.

The Saints selected him with the 32nd overall pick in 2017. That was a pick the Saints had acquired by trading Brandin Cooks to the New England Patriots.

His pro career began with his first start at left tackle in the home opener against the Minnesota Vikings. Ramczyk filled in for multiple injured Saints linemen early that season, which gave him experience all over the offensive line in just the first several games of his career.

He ultimately stayed on the right side after fellow OT Zach Strief was ruled out with a season-ending knee injury. At the end of his rookie year, Ramczyk was named to the Pro Football Writers of America All-Rookie Team.

Ramczyk played his entire eight seasons for the Saints. During that time, he was named a First-Team All-Pro in 2019 and was a two-time Second-Team All-Pro in 2018 and 2020.

He dealt with knee injuries later in his career, undergoing multiple procedures to clean up cartilage issues. In 2023, he was limited to just 12 games and then underwent offseason knee surgery.

When 2024 rolled around, the Saints were forced to place him on the reserve/physically unable to perform (PUP) list, which ended his season before it even began.

Earlier this month, Ramczyk announced his official retirement from professional football at the age of 30.

What Name Might Ryan Ramczyk Call In Round 2?

According to a recent Saints’ 7-round mock draft by PFSN, New Orleans will select quarterback Shedeur Sanders with their first-round pick, ninth overall.

Sanders has been an interesting prospect to watch as various mocks have him all over the first two rounds. Some analysts feel that he has been overrated throughout the draft process, while others think he might be good enough to go with pick two or three.

For Ramczyk’s pick, which should be 40th overall in the second round, the same mock has them selecting Nic Scourton, EDGE from Texas A&M.

“If the Saints can get the Purdue version of Nic Scourton and unleash his full potential,” PFSN’s Gerald Ng wrote, “he could be a division-leading pass-rusher with his play strength, finesse, and craftiness. He is extremely athletic, and his spin move to beat the offensive lineman showcases his quickness and strength.”

In 2023, Scourton, who was then with the Purdue Boilermakers, had 50 tackles and 10 sacks. When he arrived at Texas A&M, his production dropped off slightly, and he had just 37 tackles and five sacks in 2024.
