Former NFL players Will Compton and Taylor Lewan have built one of the fastest-growing media brands in “Bussin’ With The Boys.” They started their podcast after they retired from the NFL, and the pair have been able to interview many current players.
Compton and Lewan still have many NFL connections. They recently parked their bus at this year’s edition of Tight End University. Compton made a post on X about a concert at TEU and gave a peek behind the curtain after he met Taylor Swift.

Compton signed with the Washington Redskins after going undrafted in the 2013 NFL Draft. He carved out a role that kept him with the team for five years. Compton then played for three other teams, including the Tennessee Titans twice, over his final four seasons.
Lewan was the 11th overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft and spent his entire nine-year career with the Titans. Compton and Lewan overlapped in 2018 and 2020, creating a friendship that has lasted beyond their playing days.
They parlayed their connection into the highly successful “Bussin’ With The Boys” podcast and became close with TEU founders, San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
The fifth edition of TEU is taking place at Vanderbilt University in Nashville. The “school” put on a concert for its students, including an appearance by Swift.
Compton posted, “The rumors are true.. Taylor Swift performed at Tight End University last night and @BussinWTB opened with the National Anthem Won’t talk too much about the private conversation that took place but let’s just say I won’t let “your guys’ show is so funny” go to my head.”

It’s never bad for up-and-coming podcast host to rub shoulders with arguably the most famous person on the planet. The Bussin’ guys got that opportunity at the TEU concert.
TEU was founded in 2021 by Kittle, Kelce, and former Pro Bowl tight end Greg Olsen. TEU’s vision is around the continued growth of the tight end community. It’s a great opportunity for tight ends to teach and learn from each other.
TEU’s long-term goal is to get tight ends paid better. Kittle took the first step by signing a four-year, $76.4 million extension with the 49ers. Swift will likely increase TEU’s profile for next year’s edition, but Compton and Lewan wisely interacted with the pop star when they had the chance.
