For NFL fans, it’s no secret that Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is one of the best players in the league. However, it’s hard to put him above others simply due to his performance in the playoffs. One former NFL linebacker and current FOX Sports analyst weighed in on the former No. 32 overall draft pick and his continued struggle for postseason success.

Will Postseason Woes Define Ravens QB Lamar Jackson’s Legacy?
Appearing on the FOX Sports show “The Facility,” Emmanuel Acho and other former NFL players, such as wide receiver James Jones and running back LeSean McCoy, discussed Jackson’s postseason resume.
“The other thing, if we’re being honest about it all, Lamar [Jackson] has to be special in the playoffs. He’s special in the regular season, but when you think about [Buffalo Bills quarterback] Josh Allen, 25 touchdowns… four interceptions in the playoffs… If you’re going to be one of the greatest of this generation, you have to be that in the playoffs as well,” Acho said.

Acho also credited Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, the best quarterback in the league, with his playoff success.
During the regular season, Jackson is 70-24 all-time as a starting quarterback. He’s completed 64.9% of his passes for 20,059 yards, 166 touchdowns, and 49 interceptions. He’s also added 1,014 carries for 6,173 yards and 33 touchdowns as a runner.
However, in the playoffs, Jackson has played in eight games and has gone 3-5. He’s completed 60.6% of his passes for 1,753 yards, 10 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. He also has 94 carries for 641 yards and three touchdowns on the ground.
With Jackson as their quarterback, the Ravens have had two Wild Card round exits and have only one AFC Championship appearance (2023). They lost to the Chiefs 17-10, despite being the No. 1 seed in the AFC and having home-field advantage.
This past season, they lost 27-25 to the Bills in Buffalo after the Ravens attempted a two-point conversion but failed after tight end Mark Andrews dropped the ball.
In eight playoff games, Jackson has thrown an interception in six, including at least one in every game in which the Ravens were eliminated. He’s also had seven fumbles.
Acho brings up a great point. Jackson has been a fantastic player in the regular season with his two MVP awards, three-time first-team All-Pro nods, a QB+ grade of 99.8 (best in the league in 2024-25), and four Pro Bowl appearances. However, he has yet to deliver in a big way for the Ravens in the playoffs.
Can the Ravens finally break through the AFC Championship barrier in 2025 and compete in Super Bowl 60? Time will tell.
