The Philadelphia Eagles won it all but found themselves battling another foe not long after: bureaucracy. The Green Bay Packers, who had lost to the Eagles in the playoffs, became the de facto face of the push to ban Philadelphia’s Tush Push.
However, those efforts came up short. The votes are in, and the Eagles have emerged victorious once again. Philadelphia’s official X account jumped in to comment on the resounding win.

Eagles Respond To Massive Tush Push Win
Taking to X following the announcement, the Eagles’ official social media account posted a picture of themselves facing the Packers with a team logo.

“Push on,” the team posted. The post seemingly took a shot at the Packers by the choice to use a picture with them in it.
However, the win was narrow. According to ESPN insider Adam Schefter, the vote came just two votes short of the ban.

“Final vote on the proposed ban of the Tush Push, per sources: 22-10. At least 24 votes were needed to ban The Tush Push,” Schefter posted.
The full list of teams that sided with the Eagles were not yet released, but Schefter also tweeted out that it did include the Baltimore Ravens, the New England Patriots, the New York Jets, and the Detroit Lions.
Eagles Veteran Makes Public Statement on Tush Push Survival
Eagles offensive tackle Lane Johnson wasted little time reacting to the Tush Push win, issuing his own two-word statement.

“Pushing forward,” Johnson posted on X.
The post was made at 11:50 a.m., just 11 minutes after the Eagles made theirs. The message also came with images of the Tush Push, one of which was against the San Francisco 49ers and the other against the Kansas City Chiefs.
At the end of the day, the message is clear, and it’s that the Eagles are pushing on. Of course, with the state of the vote being as close as it was and the push likely only to be used more in the future against opponents, there’s a chance that enough teams could face the pain inflicted by the move that a future ban attempt passes.
Nevertheless, at least for the 2025 season, the Eagles will be free to employ the controversial play as they see fit. However, will the Tush Push live to see 2026, 2027, or even 2030? It’s clear that the fight is not over, and this very proposal could be brought to light again this time next year.
