Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman did not wait long to get started during the NFL‘s legal tampering period. The Eagles reportedly agreed to contracts with three players on Monday, including star running back Saquon Barkley.

Saquon Barkley Spurns Giants, Signs Three-Year Deal With Rival Eagles
There was plenty of smoke in the air regarding a potential agreement between the Eagles and Barkley heading into Monday. Based on Philadelphia’s recent history, it didn’t seem likely for the team to invest so heavily in running back.
Yet, Roseman and the Eagles broke their trend and signed Barkley to a massive three-year deal worth a maximum of $46.75 million. It’s clear that Philadelphia views Barkley as more than just a running back, similar to how the San Francisco 49ers view Christian McCaffrey.

Tiki Barber’s Fury at Saquon Barkley’s Move to Eagles — ‘You’re Dead to Us’
While many Eagles fans were excited to see Barkley sign with Philadelphia, the move was heavily criticized by fans of the New York Giants. Including former Giants running back Tiki Barber, who did not hold back when discussing Barkley’s decision to sign with an NFC East rival.
Barkley responded to Barber’s comments on X (formerly Twitter), calling him out for his questionable remarks. “You been a hater since I got to New York, and all the ‘dead to me’ talk, don’t smile in my face when you see me,” Barkley said. There will clearly be some added fuel to the fire for Philadelphia’s games against New York next season.

Getting Younger: Eagles Signing of Bryce Huff Impacts Trade Talks With Haason Reddick, Josh Sweat
As the Eagles reportedly continue to shop Haason Reddick and Josh Sweat on the trade market, they signed another pass rusher to a massive deal. Philadelphia signed Bryce Huff to a three-year, $51 million contract on Monday.
While the Eagles continue to sort through their trade options for both Reddick and Sweat, it’s clear that they are ready to invest in a younger option. Huff offers a ton of upside and could easily outperform his contract in his first year in Philadelphia. Now we wait and see what the Eagles will do with Reddick and Sweat as the offseason progresses.

Report: Eagles Still Have “a Lot” of Interest in C.J. Gardner-Johnson
According to long-time Eagles reporter Derrick Gunn of JAKIB Sports, Philadelphia still has “a lot of interest” in free agent safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson. Although Gardner-Johnson had a chaotic end to his first stint in Philadelphia, the fit makes sense for both sides.
The Eagles were reportedly in on former Giants safety Xavier McKinney before he signed with the Green Bay Packers. It’s clear that Philadelphia is searching for help at safety, and Gardner-Johnson was a great fit on the field for them in 2022. Now we wait to see if the Eagles and Gardner-Johnson can repair their relationship and agree to a deal.

Report: Eagles Sign Former Saints OLB Zack Baun
Once the Eagles signed Huff to a massive deal, it was clear that Philadelphia intended to move on from either Reddick or Sweat. Then the Eagles signed another pass rusher on Monday, as they reportedly agreed to a one-year deal with Zack Baun.
Although ESPN’s Adam Schefter listed Baun as a linebacker, he has primarily lined up outside the offensive tackle as an edge rusher. Baun will likely primarily be a core special teams player but offers upside as a potential rotational pass rusher along the edge.
