‘Another 2023 Collapse Is Here’ — Eagles Fans Panic After Philadelphia’s Concerning Start vs. Bears in Week 13

To say that Eagles fans are frustrated with yet another lifeless performance from a defending championship roster would be an understatement.

It’s not always sunny in Philadelphia. The defending Super Bowl champion Eagles, at 8-3, may still be in contention for the No. 1 seed in the NFC, but there’s a standard that fans expect to be upheld.

So far? That hasn’t been the case in 2025. The team’s star trio of quarterback Jalen Hurts, running back Saquon Barkley, and wide receiver A.J. Brown have all underperformed. Frustrations could be reaching a boiling point if the Eagles fall to the Chicago Bears at home on Friday.

Patience Wearing Thin in Philadelphia

There’s a lot to be thankful for this holiday season if you have a rooting interest in the Eagles. Of course, they’re the defending champions, and they’re on the heels of their second Super Bowl appearance in three seasons. Their title defense, though, hasn’t gone according to plan.

Don’t look at their record before reaching that conclusion. On the surface, everything is fine, and the sky isn’t falling. Beneath it, Eagles fans can sense that this team, as presently constructed, may not be able to compete in this year’s playoff field with a crowded conference.

In the first quarter of Friday’s game, the Eagles ran just five plays for 15 yards while the Bears led two long, time-consuming drives.

“Eagles season is over,” one fan wrote on X. “I saw no life in this team the whole first quarter. Defense just going thru the motions another 2023 collapse is here.”

Coming off a Super Bowl appearance, the Eagles won 10 of their first 11 games to begin the 2023 campaign. They would ultimately lose five of their final six to finish the regular season with an 11-6 record and lose in the first round of the playoffs to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Another fan criticized the Eagles’ offense and their inability to intimidate a defense.

The Eagles’ defense has been gashed in the first half. A fan predicted that they’re on pace to surrender over 500 total yards.

This fan questioned when the conversations around Kevin Patullo, the Eagles’ offensive coordinator and play-caller, will begin.

“This offense as a whole is out of sync. No one is on the same page. What a mess,” wrote another fan.

Hurts is 3-of-7 in the first half for 45 yards, while Barkley has run six times for a measly 23 yards. “This offense is just brutal to watch,” this fan wrote.

Not everyone is furious beyond belief. Perhaps this fan uses levity to cope with their anger.
