With little time left before the kickoff of Super Bowl 60 between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks at Levi’s Stadium, Bad Bunny’s halftime show continues to be one of the most talked-about topics. Drake’s name has also become the newest element of the event, causing controversy for several reasons.
Drake Didn’t Want to Steal the Spotlight from Bad Bunny at Super Bowl 60
According to a report published by The Sun, Drake was invited by Bad Bunny to perform alongside the Puerto Rican singer during the halftime show. However, the Canadian declined the invitation to avoid interfering with the main artist’s performance.
Sources told the British tabloid that Drake did not want to divert attention from Bad Bunny’s main moment, leaving the focus entirely on the Puerto Rican artist by avoiding the spotlight after being the direct target of another attraction in 2025.
“He said no because he wants everyone to focus on his brother Benito. He wants Bad Bunny to enjoy the moment, to do his thing and to not have his moment surrounded by noise about any kind of revenge on Kendrick [Lamar]. He wants his friend to shine and to pay tribute to the Latino world his way, without Drake being the center of attention,”, an insider told The Sun.

Speculation surrounding the refusal arose after many fans imagined that Drake could use his large platform to respond to his longstanding rivalry with Kendrick Lamar, who was the main attraction during the halftime show at Super Bowl 59.
However, people close to the situation said that this intention was never part of Drake’s plans and that his decision was expressly made to keep the show focused on Bad Bunny, who has previously participated in the Super Bowl as a special guest, in 2020 alongside Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, and J Balvin.
Now, the Puerto Rican singer and current Grammy winner for Best Album is preparing to debut as the main artist of the halftime show, marking a historic moment as one of the first Latin artists to headline the event.
Possible Guests for the Super Bowl 60 Halftime Show
Other names have emerged in recent weeks as possible candidates to join Bad Bunny in the halftime show. Another artist being considered is Post Malone, partly because of his previous collaborations with Bad Bunny and his relationship with the NFL.

Some rumors have also mentioned the possibility of Jennifer Lopez and Shakira being invited, as the appearance of both could create a symbolic moment, given that Bad Bunny has previously participated in their shows. However, none of this has been officially confirmed, and at this point, the presence of guests is considered unlikely due to the complex logistics involved in producing the Super Bowl.
The Super Bowl musical lineup also features other performers before kickoff. Green Day will handle the opening ceremony; Charlie Puth will sing the U.S. national anthem; Brandi Carlile will perform “America the Beautiful”; and Coco Jones will perform “Lift Every Voice and Sing.”
