The NFL injury report continues to build in Week 6, with several stars suffering injuries that could affect their availability for pivotal matchups.
Let’s take a look at the latest NFL injuries and what the latest information is.
Week 6 NFL Injury Roundup
PFN and SICscore.com bring you the latest injury news and analysis as the team of pro sports doctors, including Dr. David Chao, MD (@ProFootballDoc), give expert opinions on major injury statuses for Josh Allen, Nico Collins, Derek Carr, and other stars.
Texans WR Nico Collins To Miss Next 4 Weeks
The Houston Texans’ top wideout was placed on injured reserve on Wednesday after he sustained a hamstring injury on a long touchdown score in Week 5. Head coach DeMeco Ryans first stated Collins was day-to-day before changing tune and saying week-to-week, before landing on IR and now out until at least the Detroit Lions game in Week 10.
Josh Allen To Play Week 6 After Head Injury Scare
The Buffalo Bills quarterback was evaluated for a concussion in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game after slamming his head hard on the ground. Allen sat out one play before he returned.
"I don't think there was any shenanigans I don't think you can judge on video if he was out!" @profootballdoc analyzes what he saw with Josh Allen and his concussion check. #BillsMafia

Post-game, head coach Sean McDermott acknowledged that he cleared concussion protocol and was able to go back into the game. Expect the elite QB to play on Monday Night Football in Week 6.
Saints Could Be Without Derek Carr for Multiple Weeks
The New Orleans Saints will be without starting QB Derek Carr for an extended period after he took a hard hit to the ribs late in the fourth quarter of MNF. The injury has been reported as an oblique issue.
This injury is hard for quarterbacks to play through due to the pain felt when the body twists while throwing. Week 8 is a potential return, but we wouldn’t rule out a return in Week 7 on Thursday Night Football after a week sidelined.
2 Colts in Danger of Missing Second Straight Week
Anthony Richardson missed the Indianapolis Colts’ last game due to a hip/oblique injury. Last week, the majority of first-team reps in practice went to Joe Flacco. We will need to monitor that pattern again this week, but there is some optimism from the team at SICscore.com that Richardson could return this week in another AFC South matchup.

Bell-cow running back Jonathan Tayor logged three straight DNPs in practice and was unable to suit up due to an ankle injury sustained in Week 4. Expectations are he will again be sidelined, as it’s hard for a running back to play through this type of injury (see Joe Mixon).
Richardson has a much better chance to return than Taylor heading into Week 6.
