With all the hype around other positions, the 2025 NFL Draft hasn’t featured many wide receivers at the top, outside of dual-threat and Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter.
But thanks to his play with the Arizona Wildcats, Tetairoa McMillan has stood out as another receiver who’s a true game-changer on offense. The Carolina Panthers selected him with the eighth overall pick in the draft to add another playmaker for Bryce Young.
Is Tetairoa McMillan Dating Anyone in 2025?
As of August 2025, there’s no public information linking McMillan to anyone romantically. He hasn’t spoken about being in a relationship or having a girlfriend, and his focus appears to be on football as he gears up for his pro debut.
McMillan was born April 5, 2003, in Waimānalo, Hawaii, to parents Wyatt Sr. and Shawny McMillan. He’s the youngest of four children. He has a brother, Wyatt McMillan, and two sisters, Alexis and Kiana. Kiana is reportedly married and has three children.
McMillan tends to keep things private and isn’t very active publicly when it comes to his personal life. There’s not much available about his parents in the public eye.
What a journey it has been. So many things to be grateful for and to say, I am proud is an understatement. 🥹💗

However, his mother, Shawny, has been a regular at his games. She was especially proud when he declared for the 2025 NFL Draft.

She’ll undoubtedly play a big role in his support circle as he transitions to the NFL.
McMillan’s Scouting Report
Here’s what PFSN’s Brentley Weissman wrote about McMillan in his scouting report:
“McMillan enters the 2025 NFL Draft as one of the best receivers and overall players in the class. It is admittedly a weak receiver class compared to recent years, but McMillan would be highly regarded no matter what year he came out.
“The Arizona product possesses very good size and overall athleticism for the position. He is a versatile receiver who can line up outside, in the slot, and even attached to the hip of the tight end all so he can maximize mismatches against nickel corners and linebackers.
“McMillan is a big-bodied pass catcher with an outstanding catch radius and hands. He is a former basketball player and plays the game similar to a power forward, as he always knows how to position himself in front of the defender to get and win the ball. McMillan has rare ball skills and is an outstanding contested catch and red-zone threat.
“While McMillan has everything you would want in a big-bodied possession-type receiver, what sets him apart is that he actually has the athleticism of a receiver who is smaller in stature. McMillan is a smooth and fluid mover who gets out of his breaks with ease and doesn’t struggle to sink his hips and change direction, something bigger receivers usually struggle with.
“Unlike most possession receivers, McMillan is outstanding with the ball in his hands — not just because he is strong and physical after the catch, which he is, but because he is sudden and has excellent instincts with the ball in his hands to make defenders miss.”
Previewing Panthers vs. Browns Week 1 Preseason Game
Shedeur Sanders will make his NFL debut against the Panthers. With Kenny Pickett and Dillon Gabriel nursing hamstring injuries, the Cleveland Browns will give Sanders an opportunity to prove his worth.
He will share game time with Tyler Huntley, but the former Colorado quarterback should have enough time to leave an impression.
For the Panthers, Bryce Young and the other starters are likely to play against the Browns. This is an excellent opportunity for the young Panthers roster to get valuable reps and cement their spot.
Along with Sanders, McMillan will also make his NFL debut in Week 1 of the preseason.
