DeVonta Smith Does a TD Celebration Special to Him and His Daughter

Smith caught a 5-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter on Saturday, giving the Philadelphia Eagles a 7-3 advantage at the time. The score came shortly after Smith dropped a pass in the end zone, a moment that could have stalled Philadelphia’s drive. Instead, he remained composed and made amends with the ensuing touchdown.

After crossing the goal line, Smith performed a short dance that he shares with his daughter, a celebration he had apparently previously promised to do after his next score. A video showed his daughter reacting adorably at home while watching the game.

Smith has consistently reiterated the importance of family throughout his career, and the celebration was another example of how that focus has carried into his professional life. He is the father of two daughters with his fiancée, Mya Danielle. Their first daughter, Kyse Danielle, was born in October 2023. Following her birth, Smith famously performed a “rock the baby” celebration during a game.

They welcomed their second daughter, Kali Danielle, in April this year. Smith and Danielle announced their engagement on Dec. 31, 2024, after making their relationship public on Instagram in June 2023. Since then, Danielle has frequently shared family moments on Instagram, including game-day appearances, holiday photos, and glimpses of Smith’s life away from football.

Smith’s family is regularly present at Eagles games, and he has said that spending time with them is his primary focus outside of football. His daughters have been seen on the field after games, and Danielle has shared moments such as Kyse reacting to confetti and pregame festivities.

From a football perspective, Smith’s touchdown against the Washington Commanders was big for an Eagles offense that relies on efficiency rather than volume in the passing game. With A.J. Brown, tight end Dallas Goedert, and running back Saquon Barkley all commanding touches, opportunities can fluctuate from week to week. Smith has nonetheless maintained a consistent role and has earned the trust of quarterback Jalen Hurts.

The touchdown was Smith’s fourth of the season and moved him closer to his third 1,000-yard receiving campaign. The Eagles won the game 29-18 in the end.
