Robinson was the 145th pick in the 2023 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers.
He played his college football for South Carolina and Florida State.
So far, the 24-year-old has appeared in 21 NFL games over part of two years.
What Are Fans Saying?
@LionsLiveWire: “Lions fill their open spot on the 53-man roster. Robinson was poached by the Lions of the Chiefs practice squad, which means he has to remain on the Lions 53-man roster for 4 games before they even have the option to waive him”
@kmcorder: “Why is Stephon Gilmore not on Detroit?”
@Slack4Tim: “He was? I can’t say I have ever heard of this guy before. Good on him for getting a chance”
@TheGreyManes: “More help coming. Consensus was he is a similar player to Branch coming out. Unclear if this is active roster or practice squad signing.”
The Lions are 4-2 in their first six games, which has them as the second-place team in the NFC North.
Following their loss to the Chiefs, they will play their next game on Monday night when they host the Tampa Bay Bucs in Detroit.
Via Erik Schlitt of Pride of Detroit: “Jammie Robinson was my 4th rated safety in 2023 (Branch was my #1), but had a high Day 3 grade (went in the 5th) A Nickel/Safety hybrid who met with the Lions at the Combine & Lions LB coach Shaun Dion Hamilton was the DB coach for him at the Senior Bowl Aggressive run defender.”
As for the Chiefs, they are 3-3 in their first six games, which has them as the third-place team in the AFC West.
Following their win over the Lions, the Chiefs will host the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.
