In his first season with the Baltimore Ravens, five-time Pro Bowl running back Derrick Henry racked up 1,921 rushing yards and tied for a league-high 16 touchdowns, proving that he remains one of the NFL’s elite backs.
The Ravens finished the season with a 12-5 record, winning the AFC North for the second consecutive year. However, they were narrowly defeated by the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Divisional Round, falling short of their Super Bowl aspirations once again.
The loss was a tough pill to swallow for Henry and the Ravens, fueling their determination heading into the offseason. Now, with the 2025 season on the horizon, Henry is channeling that motivation into an all-out pursuit of Super Bowl 60.
Derrick Henry and Co. Set Sights on Super Bowl Glory in 2025
In a Wednesday, June 18 appearance on “The Rich Eisen Show“, Henry opened up about his mindset heading into his second season with the Ravens, revealing that the entire team should have a chip on its shoulder.
“To be honest with you, last year, I kind of felt that a lot,” Henry told Eisen. “I just wanted to prove that I can still dominate this league and be a great player, coming here and helping them and doing my job effectively.”
“I think it’s like for us as a team because I feel like we have everything we need to, you know, win a Super Bowl, win a championship, and I feel like the whole team should have that chip on their shoulder to go out there and prove that,” added Henry.
Armed with two-time MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson, a rushing offense built around the bruising Henry and one of the league’s most dynamic defenses, the Ravens have stacked their chips in pursuit of the Lombardi Trophy.
Earlier this offseason, they signed veteran DeAndre Hopkins to mentor wide receivers Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman. This week, they bolstered their defense by adding former Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander to their already-stacked secondary.
Ravens Open 2025 as Super Bowl Betting Favorite With League’s Best Odds
With the acquisition of Alexander, the Ravens continue to go “all-in” on the 2025 season. According to oddsmakers, the Ravens are among the betting favorites to win Super Bowl 60, sharing the top spot with the Bills and defending champion Philadelphia Eagles.
All three teams are listed at +650 on DraftKings Sportsbook, meaning a $100 bet would yield a $650 profit. The Ravens have better odds than perennial powerhouses like the Kansas City Chiefs, Detroit Lions and San Francisco 49ers.
With most starters returning and a locker room laser-focused on redemption, the Ravens are aiming to lift the Lombardi Trophy for the first time since 2013. It won’t be easy in a competitive AFC, but the Ravens appear to have the right roster and mindset to get over the hump in 2025.
