It’s shaping up to be a year to remember for Houston Texans cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. After signing a historic $90 million deal in the offseason, Stingley capped off the team’s Week 6 bye with another milestone–proposing to his longtime girlfriend, Annabella Campagna. She recently shared intimate and heartwarming details about the special moment, giving fans a glimpse into their love story.
What Did Annabella Campagna Reveal About Derek Stingley Jr.’s Romantic Proposal?
Stingley had a game to remember in Week 5 against the Baltimore Ravens, and during the Week 6 bye, he had a moment to cherish for a lifetime.
Over the weekend, the Texans’ cornerback proposed to his girlfriend, and the couple shared the special occasion on Tuesday night. The Instagram post included photos from the proposal, which took place on Oct.10.
“10•10•25 The most perfect day to say yes for forever,” Campagna wrote in her caption.
Stingley presented Campagna with an elongated diamond set on a gold band, marking the beginning of their engagement. Photos from the Instagram carousel captured the heartfelt moment, including Stingley getting down on one knee in a picturesque outdoor setting. The proposal comes just weeks after the couple celebrated their second anniversary.
“In this life and the next it’s always you, Happy Anniversary,” Campagna wrote on Instagram on Sept. 9.
Campagna, who will turn 26 next week, grew up in New York and earned her master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Pace University in 2024. She currently works as a fitness trainer and also captained the university’s soccer team, showcasing both athletic and academic achievements
Meanwhile, this season marks Stingley’s fourth with the Texans after being selected third overall out of LSU in the 2022 NFL Draft. In 2024, he posted career-best numbers, helping the Texans secure a second division title and earning first-team All-Pro honors. He recorded a career-high 37 solo tackles in 17 regular-season appearances and matched his 2023 total with five interceptions.
In March, Houston rewarded Stingley with a historic three-year, $90 million contract extension, making him the highest-paid defensive back in franchise history and keeping him under contract through 2029. He is living up to that deal in 2025, tallying 11 tackles and one interception through the season’s first five games.
Stingley continues to build a life with Campagna off the field, celebrating personal milestones alongside his professional success. With both a thriving career and a growing personal life, it’s clear that 2025 will be a memorable year for the star cornerback.
