The taste of playoff football changes everything. For the Denver Broncos, that first postseason appearance since 2015 wasn’t just a milestone, it was a wake-up call.
Now, with the 2025 season approaching, the locker room buzz tells a different story than anyone expected just a year ago. WR Marvin Mims Jr. opened up about the the team’s mindset going into this season.
What Does Marvin Mims Jr.’s Message Reveal About Denver’s Championship Mindset?
Wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr., who hauled in 39 catches for 503 yards and six receiving touchdowns in 2024, will have Broncos fans fired up with what the team’s mentality is coming into the upcoming season.
“With the guys that were here last year and the guys that are coming, you can kind of feel that everyone in the locker room is hungry, especially the guys who are here and played in Buffalo last year and got a taste of the playoffs,” he said during an interview with SiriusXM NFL Radio. “They know what it’s like and what it takes to get there.”
That Buffalo experience sticks with you. While the Broncos weren’t expected to put together a winning campaign in 2024, they managed to prove the naysayers wrong. Thanks to their return to the postseason, the desire is even stronger this time around to return.

Mims didn’t hold back about the shift happening in Denver.
“You can just really feel that like, the times are changing for us,” he said. “People always like to say ‘Win now’ mode, and with things went last year, we were projected to be last in the League last year and ended up making the Wild Card. The guys who were here last year, they believe, and the guys who are coming in want to make an impact too.”
The confidence in his voice tells the whole story.
“I think everyone’s hungry…I feel like we’re poised and level-headed this year, and we’ll make something happen, as long as we keep it going on each other and strive to get there.”
How Did Denver’s 2024 Season Transform the Franchise’s Future?
The 2024 NFL season was a successful one for the Denver Broncos, who enjoyed what was their first winning campaign since their most recent Super Bowl victory.
Multiple changes were made heading into the season, not the least of which was the release of former starting quarterback Russell Wilson.
Denver replaced him with 2024 first-round draft selection Bo Nix, who would lead them to the franchise’s first postseason appearance since 2015.
While their season came to a close at the hands of the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Wild Card game, there is plenty to be excited about coming into the 2025 NFL season.
The good news for Broncos fans plays right into what Mims had to say about Denver’s postseason appearance last season. While it was a disappointing end to the campaign, they managed to defy expectations and now have a better grasp of what competing in the NFL postseason football takes.
That experience becomes the foundation for everything moving forward. The Broncos can build on their strong season last year and take the next step in 2025.
