Cowboys LB Pushes Back on Ole Miss Coach Joe Judge’s Controversial Comments: ‘Don’t Listen to This’

During court hearings to get Trinidad Chambliss more eligibility, QB coach Joe Judge testified and made some controversial comments.

Ole Miss football had a very good season last year and was a part of a countrywide focus on and off the field. For the first time in their history, Ole Miss was invited to the college football playoffs, and although they did not win, it was a potential first step in being competitive throughout future years.

Current Dallas Cowboys LB Speaks on Joe Judge’s Comments

The only issue is QB Trinidad Chambliss, according to the NCAA, he was out of eligibility, but Ole Miss and Chambliss felt differently. During court hearings to determine Chambliss’s eligibility, QB coach Joe Judge testified and made some controversial comments.

For Chambliss’s eligibility, which was ultimately granted, Judge was sent to the stand to testify that another year in the NCAA would do wonders for the player and his NFL prospects. During his attempt to help Chambliss, Judge made a comment that drew major pushback:

“We would have to educate significant others who may have been pregnant during the season or who were going to have a baby during the season. And you would have to educate them on you have this baby in the middle of the season, that father has to play good football. It’s a day-by-day production business.”

“You need to let him sleep. He needs to be in another room, detached. You have to explain to the mother, like, ‘Hey, listen, he ain’t waking up for midnight feedings.'”

This is definitely an interesting thing to say, and, as expected, it received heavy pushback across the media. Current Dallas Cowboys LB DeMarvion Overshown was someone who spoke out against Judge’s comments, and here is what he had to say:

“Don’t listen to this young men. Be there for the mother of your child and let the rest take care of itself. Those midnight feedings turns into financial freedom because nothing will inspire you more than being a great father.”

Having a child is a big-time commitment for every person involved, but it is much harder to do alone. Family should be a priority over everything, including helping the mother when needed and doing fatherly things for the child, even if it’s football season.
