‘The MVP Of All My Kids’ — Deion Sanders Reveals His Favorite Child Out of Shedeur, Shilo, Deiondra, Shelomi, and Deion Jr.

With sons Shedeur Sanders and Shilo Sanders following in his footsteps as professional football players, it’s easy to see why Colorado Head Coach Deion Sanders might hold them in higher regard than his other children.

However, that’s not necessarily the case. In a recent post on his Instagram Stories, the Hall of Fame defensive back named Deion Sanders Jr. as “the MVP of all my kids.”

Deion Sanders Jr. Praised as ‘MVP Of All My Kids’ by Deion Sanders

Sanders Jr. earning the title as MVP may come as a bit of a surprise to some, but it seems the elder Sanders is being a bit cheeky here. It’s become a running joke for Deion Sanders to tease his other children with jokes about who his favorite is.

While many parents would scoff at ranking their children, Sanders seems to double down on every available opportunity. He previously explained his process to Michael Strahan on Good Morning America.

“I admit to it. Y’all don’t admit to it. You know very well we have our favorites. We know which child is going to do what for us. We know which child to trust, we know what child not to trust, we know which child is going to be there, we know which child ain’t getting you nothing,” Sanders said.

While there seems to be some truth to his comments, the Sanders children take it all in stride. They have even embraced the playful competition, regularly making their cases for being his favorite in media appearances.

Making the Case for Sanders Jr. Being Family MVP

Despite Shedeur Sanders being drafted by the Cleveland Browns with the No. 144 overall selection in the 2025 NFL Draft and defensive back Shilo Sanders signing an UDFA deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Sanders Jr. recently earned praise from their father.

Sanders Jr. is the firstborn son of Deion Sanders. He had a brief football career of his own, playing wide receiver at Southern Methodist University (SMU). However, he failed to make much of an impact, managing only 30 receptions and 233 receiving yards during his collegiate career.

Though his football career never took off like the rest of the family, his contributions to the family business have not gone unnoticed. Sanders Jr. has excelled behind the scenes, working as his father’s social media manager and producing content for the family’s “Well Off Media” brand.

While some may consider this less impressive than making it to the NFL, Deion Sanders doesn’t view it that way. He sees Sanders Jr. as the MVP of the family — at least for now.
