Deion Sanders Reveals His ‘Dream’ Scenario for Sons, Shedeur and Shilo, in 2025 NFL Draft

Deion Sanders is about to begin his third season as the head coach for the University of Colorado. Before he can focus on that, he has some names he will be rooting for to be called out of Colorado in this year’s NFL Draft. What makes this one special for him is the fact that two names he will be proud to hear are those of his sons, Shilo and Shedeur Sanders.

In a few weeks, Deion will join the ranks of fathers who will have or have had children following in their footsteps of playing in the NFL. While there are bound to be preferences of what teams the Sanders brothers play for, Coach Prime has an ideal “dream” scenario in mind for them.

Will the Sanders Brothers Reunite in the NFL?

Speaking recently with Yahoo Sports’ Charles McDonald, Coach Sanders, more so now as their father rather than their coach, said, “The dream is they [Shedeur and Shilo] could be together. But that may not happen.”

The Sanders brothers have been together for nearly their whole football careers, apart from two years when Shilo played for South Carolina. The locker room will look different for each brother without the other, but their father is well aware it may not be a dream come true, at least not now.

Thinking back to last July at Big 12 media day, Shilo did allude to the possibility of playing with his brother again in the NFL, so perhaps Coach Prime’s dream could come true one day.

‘We’re Excited About the Prospects of Where They’re Gonna Be’

If not the same team, where may the Sanders brothers land? No one is exactly sure which team will take the two brothers, as Shedeur is most likely to be taken first. One thing for sure is that their father has confidence in their future.

“I’m happy and excited for them. I’ve talked to all the teams that fit the description. I know who they are. Some of those teams probably won’t pick my sons anyway,” said Coach Prime.

Coach Prime’s insight does not seem to be about a preferred location for his children but rather about protecting them from places that would be hurtful to them. The NFL has had its share of franchises with some controversy behind them. The Washington Commanders are the perfect example, and the change in ownership showed in the turnaround the team made this year, coming a game from the Super Bowl.

It helps to have a bloodline in the NFL, especially with a name like Deion attached to it. As a coach, but more importantly, as the father of Shilo and Shedeur, he is proud of his son’s accomplishments on the field and will back them to the fullest.

The question remains whether his boys will be drafted with the same colors or if there will be some competition within the family. The answers will begin at the NFL Draft, beginning with night one on April 24 from Green Bay, Wisc.
