DeAndre Hopkins Contract and Net Worth

Hopkins was a first-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft and spent the first seven years of his career with the Houston Texans. He became known for his durability and physical play style and was a first-team All-Pro his final three years in Houston.

He surpassed 1,000 receiving yards in five of his seven seasons as a Texan and led the NFL in touchdowns in 2017 with 13. That was the first year of his three-straight first-team All-Pro selections, and he followed it up with 115 catches, 1,572 yards, and 11 touchdowns in 2018.

Hopkins played in 15 games the following year, posting 104 receptions, 1,165 yards, and seven scores. He added 15 catches and 208 yards in Houston’s postseason run that year, but was traded along with a fourth-round pick to the Arizona Cardinals during the 2020 NFL Draft. Houston received running back David Johnson, a 2020 second-round pick, and a 2021 fourth-round pick for Hopkins.

Many saw the trade as a steal for Arizona, and Hopkins signed a two-year, $54.5 million extension just before the 2020 regular season began. He came out hot in his first year as a Cardinal, totaling 115 caches, 1,407 yards, and six touchdowns en route to a second-team All-Pro selection. The next two years were cut short by injuries, and Arizona released Hopkins in the 2023 offseason.

He signed a two-year, $26 million deal with the Tennessee Titans that offseason, but was traded to Kansas City after Week 7. He posted just 56 receptions, 610 yards, and five touchdowns between the two teams in the regular season, and added three catches, 29 yards, and one score in the playoffs.

After the season, the Chiefs let Hopkins test free agency. He signed a one-year, $5 million contract with the Ravens, and the deal includes an additional $1 million in incentives.

Assuming he collects his full contract this season, Hopkins will have made just under $103 million in his career. If he plays beyond 2025, he’s earned the right to be a year-to-year player who only goes to contenders. Baltimore has as good a chance as any in the AFC to dethrone the Chiefs, and Hopkins could be the piece that gets them over the top.

He joins a receiver room led by Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman. Flowers led the team with 74 receptions and 1,059 yards last season, and Bateman led the receiver room with nine touchdowns. Hopkins fits as the fourth or fifth option behind Flowers, Bateman, Mark Andrews, and Isaiah Likely, but will be a solid weapon in Lamar Jackson’s arsenal.
