Just three days after attending Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s star-studded wedding at Madison Square Garden, Russell Wilson and Ciara celebrated a major milestone by marking their 10th wedding anniversary.
While the couple remains one of the most admired celebrity pairs, Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy isn’t a fan and has sparked headlines with a blunt comment about their relationship.

Portnoy is known for his unfiltered takes, and he didn’t hold back while discussing Wilson and Ciara’s long-standing marriage during the latest episode of the “Wake Up Barstool” podcast.
The hosts were discussing Swift’s grand wedding to Kelce when photos of Wilson and Ciara appeared on screen, prompting an impromptu remark from Portnoy.
“Ciara’s one of the most stunning women in the world, he’s a zero,” Portnoy said. “I don’t know how that couple works.”

One of the co-hosts tried to defend Wilson, arguing that the retired quarterback looked “bad(expletive)” in his tuxedo. Portnoy, however, doubled down with a sarcastic response: “Yeah, until he opens his mouth.”
Portnoy may have his opinion, but Ciara expressed a very different sentiment last week when she shared a heartfelt message celebrating the couple’s 10th wedding anniversary, writing that she would make the same choice all over again, even a decade later.
“Since the first day we met… we haven’t stopped laughing, dancing, dating, holding hands, being passionate, praying, forgiving, and having the best time of our lives! I remember saying Yes like it was yesterday, and I would say Yes all over again! Happy 10 Year Anniversary… I’m so proud of us. I love you soooo much!” Ciara wrote on her Instagram.

Wilson, who retired from the NFL this offseason, echoed the sentiment, describing their love story as God’s perfect plan.
“10 years ago you said YES. Yes to each other. YES to God’s perfect plan for each other. YES to 4 beautiful kids. YES to Love. 10 years of the most amazing highs and a few lows but every day we wake up I thank God HE gave me you Ciara,” Wilson wrote. “A life full of Joy, Gratitude, Forgiveness, Laughter, Smiles, some tears, and a whole lot of Love. Wilson and Ciara’s love story began in March 2015, when they met through a mutual friend at a basketball game in Wisconsin. After spending hours talking, Wilson later admitted he was completely “sold on” Ciara. For the singer, one of the biggest reasons their relationship grew so quickly was Wilson’s embrace of her son, Future Zahir, from a previous relationship, treating him as his own.
Wilson proposed during a trip to the Seychelles in March 2016, and the couple tied the knot just a few months later, on July 6, 2016, in a private ceremony at Peckforton Castle in Cheshire, England.
The couple has since welcomed three children together, and their public displays of affection have remained constant. Even a decade after saying “I do,” they continue to publicly celebrate one another, underscoring the strength and stability of their marriage despite outside criticism from figures like Portnoy.
