Daniel Jones Contract, Salary, and Net Worth: How Much Is the Colts Star Earning?

Amid a career resurgence with the Indianapolis Colts, we break down the current contract, salary, and net worth of quarterback Daniel Jones.

The Daniel Jones renaissance has been live, televised, and glorious to witness. After being cast aside by the New York Giants, his brief dalliance with the Minnesota Vikings did not lead to a long-term partnership. Instead, he found his way to the Indianapolis Colts, who still had question marks about Anthony Richardson.

However, nine games into the year, most of those doubts have dissipated. Winning the QB1 job, Jones has been on a roll for virtually the entire season. With the franchise showing immense confidence in him by trading two first-round picks at the trade deadline, we break down what the financials look like for a spectacular year.

What Is Daniel Jones’ Contract?

Coming in as the sixth overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft after a solid run at Duke, the Giants were hoping they had found their franchise quarterback of the future, signing him to a four-year contract worth $25.664 million.

However, the first three years didn’t go entirely according to plan, leading to doubts starting to emerge about the youngster. But a strong run in 2022 culminated in New York making the playoffs for the first time since 2016.

As a result, they chose to re-sign him to a four-year, $160 million extension that would keep him around in the long haul. The move would retroactively be viewed as a terrible decision, especially as it forced the organization to move on from Saquon Barkley.

A torn ACL ended his 2023 campaign, and a brutal start to the 2024 season led to Jones being benched before he asked for a release and signed with the Vikings. Staying as the backup to Sam Darnold the entire year, he did not get a starting job with them either.

In the offseason, with no real takers, he signed a one-year deal with the Colts worth $14 million. Winning the starting job, he has been sensational throughout the season, ranking first on PFSN’s QB Impact.

With the franchise making it clear that they view him as their future, a potential blockbuster extension could be waiting in the wings for the newly nicknamed “Indiana Jones.”

What Is Daniel Jones’ Salary?

A straightforward one-year deal worth $14 million will see its full payout in the 2025 season. However, it has been broken into multiple parts, with $13.15 million of the total amount guaranteed to him.

A base salary of $7.15 million, along with a signing bonus of $6 million, serves as the guaranteed portion of his contract. But, given the nature of the deal, he also has a ton of incentives in his deal.

A per-game active bonus of $50,000, a playing time incentive that increases in $250,000 dividends for every 10% of playing time for Jones, a regular season victory with a 50% snaps bonus of $100,000, and a playoff victory with a 50% snaps bonus of $250,000 can all see the final amount of his contract increase significantly.

What Is Jones’ Net Worth?

Spending more than six years in the NFL at the most critical position in the sport has certainly helped Jones gain a massive fan following and made him a lucrative player for brands to target as an ambassador and endorser.

According to most online sources, he has a net worth of close to $50 million. A large chunk of that number comes from some blockbuster deals he signed in the NFL, which have accrued him career earnings of nearly $114 million.

Additionally, he has become a popular name for brands to target, partnering with notable companies such as Nike, Pepsi, Verizon, Bose, and Gatorade. While his lump-sum earnings have certainly afforded him a luxurious life, he has also been a keen advocate for giving back to the community.

Mission 34, a nonprofit promoting mental health awareness, and the Child Center of NY, which focuses on early childhood education and behavioral health as means to help children and families, are perhaps the biggest beneficiaries of his philanthropy.
