Damon Wilson II’s NFL Draft Potential

Damon Wilson II has eclipsed his career-high sack total (5.5) in just seven games this year, and has undoubtedly improved his 2026 NFL Draft stock. At 6’4″, 250 pounds, he has decent size, but his specialization is as a speed and finesse rusher, where he can use his elite explosiveness, agility, twitch, and angle IQ to offset and blow past would-be blockers. Wilson has a solid hand usage arsenal and good feel for leverage, but his lacking power production and occasional aversion to physicality is what keeps him from rising farther up the board.

CFB Week 9 Update

Though the Missouri Tigers lost 17-10 to Vanderbilt in Week 9, Damon Wilson II did his part to make an impact, notching a half-sack and an interception on a heads-up play that featured Wilson reacting quickly and running under a ball that was popped up on a deflection. Wilson’s lack of elite bend and power still contributes to periods where he disappears from the pocket, but the speed and motor can be enough at times. Wilson needs to keep refining his skill set, but his playmaking motor is one reason teams will be interested in him.

CFB Week 10 Update

Missouri was on a bye in Week 10, but the Tigers will return to action in Week 11 against the top-ranked Texas A&M Aggies. Texas A&M is incredibly strong in the trenches on the offensive side of the ball, with a tackle and a guard who could both secure early-round capital. Wilson will be tested by Trey Zuhn II, but Dametrious Crownover is the domineering size threat who risks erasing Wilson from plays if the latter isn’t technically sound and calculated with his angles.

CFB Week 11 Update

Wilson was blanked on the stat sheet in Missouri’s 17-38 loss to Texas A&M, and struggled to generate much pressure or displacement against the Aggies’ stalwart front. Wilson’s lack of power was a starkly visible limitation in this game. With middling length and mass, Wilson wasn’t always able to siphon much push or force from his lower-body explosion, and blockers were able to gather him easily past initial contact. Wilson still has a chance to finish the season strong, but he might be in the tier of DPR players who most often go early on Day 3.
