Dametrious Crownover’s NFL Draft Potential

Dametrious Crownover is a real-life giant who’ll have a chance to make one NFL team very happy next April. Crownover isn’t quite a first-round prospect on my board, but his ceiling is far and away one of the highest in the class. And in a modern NFL that’s trending back toward two-high and heavier fronts pound-for-pound, an overwhelming force like Crownover, who has the explosiveness and athleticism that he does, is a rare and valuable proposition.

At almost 6’7″, 335 pounds, with over 35″ arms, Crownover can dominate opponents with his size, length, and mass alone. With his power profile and high-level initial explosion, he can operate as a snow plow on down blocks, washing interior defenders out of gaps like a sentient tsunami, but he’s not reckless with his power output, either. He understands attack angles and timing in the run game, and uses those aspects to maximize the displacement he generates.

In pass protection, Crownover is understandably more raw with his hand usage. More often than not, simply getting hands on his man can go a long way toward nullifying rushes. And to his credit, for his size, Crownover has above-average knee bend and leverage acquisition, and he’s shown he can get depth on his kick with a clean pass set, using swift lateral redirections to match rushers and stay in position.

There’s still room for Crownover to further refine his hand carriage and precision, but his sense of timing on two-hand extensions is strong, and he’s a true road-grader in the run game with hyper-elite line re-setting ability. Given more time to develop, he can be a natural starter at the right tackle spot in the NFL.

CFB Week 9 Update

Texas A&M benefited from a positive game script for most of the game, and in that climate, Crownover was able to do what he does best: Obstruct defensive linemen and clog space to get upfield.

Crownover’s sheer size and measurements are overwhelming, but the massive blocker also has the angle IQ to hinge and seal off defenders from rushing lanes, and he has the efficient run game footwork to execute his assignments with aplomb. Teams will fall in love with Crownover’s tools alone, and his game has been sound enough in 2025 that he should be a riser.

Where Is Crownover Being Selected Most Often in the PFSN Mock Draft Simulator?

Crownover currently holds the No. 60 overall rank among prospects, positioning him as a Day 2 prospect. His most recent Average Draft Position (ADP) of 62.0 as of October 27 reflects that he is typically being selected in the second or third round.

This small gap between rank and ADP suggests he’s consistently valued among evaluators, even amid fluctuations in player evaluations at this stage of the draft cycle.

Users controlling the Philadelphia Eagles have been the team that selected Crownover the most frequently over the past week, accounting for 1.5% of their picks across all seven rounds.
