Dallas Goedert is not going anywhere this offseason. The Philadelphia Eagles had plenty of big offseason decisions to make and players to re-sign.
Unfortunately, they couldn’t re-sign everyone from their Super Bowl team and needed to create cap space for some to return. Goedert was one player who could’ve seen his tenure with the Eagles end this offseason as a result.
But that didn’t happen, and Goedert will be entering his eighth season with the Eagles in 2025.

Dallas Goedert Stays in Philly
Goedert has been with Philadelphia his whole career and was willing to sacrifice to stick around. They couldn’t get rid of him that easily. Goedert made sure to let the media know that he’s still an Eagle with a simple seven-word message.
“You guys couldn’t get rid of me,” said Goedert.

He’s right. The Eagles couldn’t get rid of him. While there were rumors that he could be traded this offseason, Goedert and the Eagles figured out a way for him to stay with the team at a fair price. It is reported that Goedert and the Eagles agreed on a pay cut for Goedert to stick around in Philly.
“While the exact contract terms have yet to be revealed, Goedert is reportedly taking a pay cut of roughly $4 million. Plus, reworking Goedert’s contract presumably takes a trade off the table this offseason,” said Andrew Buller-Russ of Yahoo Sports on Goedert’s pay cut.
The Eagles have plenty of pass-catching weapons. DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown are paid handsomely for their services, and as the Eagles had plenty of moves to make this offseason, taking some money away from their pass catchers makes sense.
Goedert could’ve been traded to recoup more money, but his restructure bought him an extra season at a value deemed fair by both sides.
Goedert was the easy option as his production dropped in the 2024 season. Goedert was entering the last year of his extension and posted a career-low in touchdowns with two, as well as only 496 yards.
Goedert might have his days numbered in Philadelphia, but they can’t get rid of him quite yet.
The Eagles will be looking to rattle off back-to-back Super Bowl victories, and Goedert should play a role on that offense yet again. The offense is going to look almost identical to the one that took home the Lombardi trophy last season, except for Mekhi Becton, who left in free agency.
Goedert could’ve been the second change on offense, but he’s not going anywhere and will look to prove why he belongs to stay an Eagle beyond this season.
