While fans have been disappointed with the Dallas Cowboys’ rough season so far, quarterback Dak Prescott and the rest of the squad have once again won hearts with a kind gesture toward the team’s hardworking staff during Christmas.
Dak Prescott and Crew Contribute to Giving Away Bonuses to Cowboys Staff
As every year, Prescott and his teammates decided to contribute a portion of their salaries to bring extra happiness to the hardworking staff members of the organization.
In a recent episode of HBO’s “Hard Knocks,” Prescott was seen addressing the team about why they should contribute to making the Cowboys’ staff feel appreciated. He mentioned that while players and coaches are paid well, the same isn’t true for everyone in the organization.
Behind the scenes, apart from coaches and players, many other staff members work tirelessly to ensure everything runs smoothly, but they aren’t paid a lot. Prescott highlighted this and urged everyone to show kindness through their contributions.
“Obviously, we get paid well, coaches get paid (well),” Prescott said. “You’ll see support staff, some of these guys get paid very well; however, there are other people who do a lot for us. What do we want to help contribute to them to just say thank you, right? So all this is, is Christmas bonuses. This is something we have done every year.”

Everyone was given a sheet and asked to write down how much they wanted to contribute. Prescott also pointed out specific staff members who could be helped to make their Christmas better:
“Everybody has a sheet. It’s all gonna add up once all of our money goes into that pot. Give more to the guys that work with you, the guy that’s snapping the ball with the O-line, the guy that’s holding the dummies for the D-line, the guys that take care of your equipment, who clean your locker. That’s an opportunity to give them more.”
Cowboys to Face Commanders on Christmas
After suffering a 34–17 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 16, the Cowboys (6–8–1) are set to travel to Northwest Stadium to face the Washington Commanders (4–11) on Christmas.
With the Philadelphia Eagles’ win on Saturday, the Cowboys’ playoff hopes were crushed, and the loss to the Chargers only added to the frustration. However, following the heartwarming bonus gesture for the staff, fans will be hoping the Cowboys can make Christmas more enjoyable with a win over the Commanders.
Many expected Prescott to get some rest now that the team is out of the postseason picture, but he is set to play on Thursday and lead the team once again. It will be interesting to see if he can guide the Cowboys to a victory and give the fans something to cheer for.
