This can’t be real life

It’s easy to see why Jets fans feel this way. Since the 2011-2012 season, the franchise has missed the playoffs 14 straight years. During that time, they’ve entered the season with seven different starting quarterbacks and missed on two top-three draft picks in Sam Darnold and Zach Wilson.
In 2023, the Jets traded for Aaron Rodgers, hoping he would be the team’s savior. Instead, Rodgers tore his Achilles in the first game of the 2023-2024 season. After a mediocre performance last year, his time in New York came to an end.
This offseason, the team signed Justin Fields, the No. 11 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, to a two-year, $40 million deal. Now, Fields has suffered an injury during training camp.
Things could not get much worse for the fanbase. If Fields’ injury is severe, the Jets will likely miss the playoffs again this season.

#Update: Jets head coach Aaron Glenn has confirmed that the quarterback suffered a toe injury. It happened after another player stepped on Fields’ toe, and the injury is no longer considered significant. The Jets have announced that Fields has a dislocated toe on his right foot and is considered day-to-day.
