Cowboys Star Set To Miss Time After Getting Injured in Dallas’ Training Camp for 2025 NFL Season

Amidst the off-the-field drama, the Dallas Cowboys received brutal news of a key injury to their offensive line in training camp ahead of the season.

This offseason hasn’t been one to remember for the Dallas Cowboys. After all the trials and tribulations of last summer and the ensuing season after that, it would seem like a smart bet to assume that the Cowboys would wise up. Alas, that has been far from the case. A few key areas that were seen as weaknesses going into the offseason haven’t seen dramatic upgrades, putting their ceiling into question for the 2025 season.

Add in the contract extension drama around Micah Parsons, whom owner and general manager Jerry Jones is now openly mocking, and the situation goes from bad to worse. But the latest development from training camp continues to push Dallas towards the proverbial rock bottom, with a key offensive lineman set to miss time after an injury in training camp.

Dallas Cowboys Offensive Line Receives Injury Blow

With training camp underway, the focus around the Cowboys has unfortunately not been on the field. Incendiary comments from Jones about Parsons’ availability were a terrible misstep from the lead lynchpin in Dallas.

But turning the attention to the on-field product isn’t too welcoming for the franchise either. Jane Slater of the NFL Network brought some brutal news from the Cowboys’ training camp as they lost Terence Steele to an injury.

Putting together the official report on X, Slater wrote, “Sources tells me it’s a high ankle sprain for #Cowboys T Terence Steele. I’m told it’s not considered a major injury and will only have him sitting out a few days. Good news for the lineman.”

Thankfully, it isn’t going to be as bad as initially presumed. However, for a Dallas team that is trying to put together a better performance than their bottom half of the league effort from 2024 (per PFSN’s OL+ metric), any setback is a significant problem.

Dak Prescott’s season came to an end prematurely last year, and he remains the biggest piece of the puzzle for Dallas’ success. His health and performance are critical for the franchise, and fine-tuning his rapport with the offensive line is going to be a key factor to monitor in training camp.

With Steele having spent five years on the roster, he already has some chemistry with Prescott. However, as a former undrafted free agent, Steele has worked tooth and nail to carve out his role in the squad.

This setback, just a few years removed from his ACL and MCL tears, will raise injury concerns around the tackle. How he returns could shape how the offensive line operates and, in turn, Dallas’s season as a whole.
