Cowboys Predicted To Trade Micah Parsons to NFC Super Bowl Contender in Exchange for Pro Bowler, Draft Assets

Micah Parsons and the Dallas Cowboys face a contract stalemate as rumors swirl about a possible blockbuster trade with another NFC team.

Micah Parsons is not backing down, and the Dallas Cowboys fans can feel the tension building. With most NFL players gearing up for the roster cutdown day on Aug. 26, Parsons and the front office are locked in a contract standoff, and everyone’s wondering who will blink first.

Will the Cowboys’ owner, Jerry Jones, finally cave, or is Parsons headed for a new team before the 2025 season even kicks off?

Could Micah Parsons’ Contract Dispute Lead to Him Being Traded From the Dallas Cowboys?

The Parsons saga has dominated headlines this offseason. As Week 1 draws near, some players are focused on roster spots, while Parsons has made this his offseason battleground.

Jones, never one to shy away from attention, is thought by some fans and analysts to stir up contract drama on purpose. The old saying, “there’s no such thing as bad publicity,” seems to apply more to Jones than ever. Fans are worried, though, that this won’t turn out like the team’s deals with Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb, which eventually got resolved. Parsons has made it clear he’s not interested in playing Jones’s game this time.

Now, with the regular season just two weeks away, both sides are still miles apart. Parsons has watched stars like T.J. Watt, Myles Garrett, and Nick Bosa secure massive contracts. That sets the bar, and the Cowboys star wants a deal in the same league as Watt, who is the highest-paid non-quarterback currently in the league.

Adding fuel to the fire, Alex Kay from Bleacher Report suggested in a recent column that the Green Bay Packers could gain a huge advantage by trading for Parsons. Kay’s proposal: Dallas would send Parsons to Green Bay in exchange for Rashan Gary, a 2026 first and third round pick, and a 2027 second and fourth round pick.

“With the Micah Parsons contract drama close to spilling into the regular season, it’s time for the Cowboys to make a move,” Kay wrote. “While Dallas owner Jerry Jones isn’t willing to give Parsons the record-breaking extension he desires, there should be no shortage of interested suitors.”

“One squad that could meet the superstar’s price and may be willing to give up a hefty amount of assets in the process is Green Bay,” continued Kay. “The Packers have been on the cusp of contending for several years but lack a generational talent like Parsons to anchor their defensive front.”

If Green Bay is willing to part with that much, Kay thinks Jones could be tempted to make a blockbuster trade before the 2024 season starts. Both teams, and their fans, will be watching closely to see what unfolds with Parsons in the coming weeks.
