    Takeaways From Cowboys Injury Report

    • Cornerback Caelen Carson is starting in place of an already injured DaRon Bland and is now dealing with a shoulder injury that kept him out of practice on Monday. If Carson is unable to go on Thursday it will force the Cowboys to get creative with the cornerbacks opposite of Trevon Diggs. It’s too early to tell if he will miss game action, but it’s worth monitoring.
    • Safety Markquese Bell has seen his defensive snaps decrease drastically this season under a new defensive scheme, but he has been a key special teams player thus far in 2024. However, Bell injured his ankle in Sunday’s game and was unable to come back in following his early exit. His absence would be a hit to the special teams unit and defensive back depth.
    • After some uneasiness last week for Diggs and CeeDee Lamb, both were full participants on Monday and look to be well on track to play on Thursday once again.
    • John Stephens Jr. is a second-year tight end who missed his entire rookie season due to a torn ACL and has yet to see the field this season due to a lingering hamstring issue. The Cowboys are excited about his potential but haven’t seen it come to fruition yet. However, he was a full-go on Monday, setting the stage for his potential NFL debut on Thursday night.
