Paige Bueckers was, of course, the top pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft. The UConn standout was expected to go No. 1 thanks to her rare combination of leadership and scoring ability. She led UConn to the school’s 12th national championship after averaging 19.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 2.1 steals per game.
Now that she’s officially headed to the Dallas Wings, the hype around her pairing with superstar guard Arike Ogunbowale is growing by the day. Bueckers just got a shout-out from other Dallas stars who are excited she’s joining the city.

Micah Parsons Wants a Paige Bueckers Jersey
“Hey, Paige, it’s your boy Micah. Congratulations on being number one pick. Super extraordinary feat,” said Parsons. “Aye, I need a jersey. Can’t wait to see you and Arike ball out. I think you’re about to change it around. Let’s go.”

Dak Prescott also chimed in. “Congratulations, Paige. Welcome to Dallas. Bueckers Buckets is here,” Prescott said.
That kind of support from Cowboys stars shows just how much the city is buying into the Bueckers era. Dallas has long been known for its football culture, but the Wings are generating serious buzz, and Bueckers’ arrival has only amplified that.
The Wings had a tough season in 2024, going 9-31 and finishing 11th in the Western Conference, including a nine-game losing streak to end the year. Even then, Ogunbowale was one of the league’s top scorers, finishing with 22.2 points, 5.1 assists, and 4.6 rebounds per game.
Now, the four-time All-Star is teaming up with Bueckers, the only freshman ever to win the John R. Wooden Award, the Naismith Player of the Yea,r and the AP Player of the Year — all in 2021. Together, they’re expected to form one of the most electric backcourts in the WNBA.
It sounds great on paper. Bueckers is a natural floor general with elite instincts and vision. She thrives when she facilitates and gets her teammates involved. Ogunbowale is a dynamic scorer who can break defenders down one-on-one and score almost at will. With Bueckers running the offense, Ogunbowale can focus more on moving off the ball, creating space, and getting clean looks.
It’s not unlike the NBA’s dream scenario of pairing LeBron James and Luka Dončić — two players who complement each other perfectly in ball distribution and scoring. James once said that one guy can play quarterback while the other runs the route. That’s what Dallas might be working toward on the hardwood.
Dallas didn’t just rely on landing Bueckers to turn things around. The Wings also added DiJonai Carrington, the WNBA’s Most Improved Player in 2024, and brought in former Indiana Fever forward NaLyssa Smith — both high-impact additions.
If this group can stay healthy and build chemistry, they’re not just looking at a bounce-back season — they might become must-watch TV every week. And if the wins start stacking up, don’t be surprised if Bueckers’ jersey becomes one of the hottest items in Dallas.
