The Dallas Cowboys’ starting quarterback, Dak Prescott, is about to start a new chapter as a dad of two. Prescott and his fiancée, Sarah Jane Ramos, announced earlier this year that they’re expecting their second child. On Mother’s Day 2025, the QB gave his fiancée a heartfelt shoutout on Instagram.

Prescott and Sarah were first linked in September 2023 and later confirmed their relationship. The couple welcomed their first child, daughter Margaret Jane Rose Prescott, in February 2024 and got engaged that October.
They’re expecting their second daughter in May 2025, and Prescott is making sure to soak up time with his fiancée before the NFL preseason kicks off.
“Extra hugs, kisses and claps for mama today,” he wrote in an Instagram story on Mother’s Day.
“These two girls (one expected) are so blessed to call you mama,” he wrote in another.
Prescott also paid tribute to his late mother, Peggy Prescott, who raised him as a single mom while working as a truck stop manager. She died from colon cancer in 2013, when Prescott was still in college.
“Always celebrating you. I love you so much and miss you mama,” he wrote, sharing an old photo with Peggy.
Prescott has been active in raising awareness about colon cancer. The NFL honored him for his charity work focused on cancer research, naming him the 2022 Walter Payton Man of the Year.
“I want to acknowledge the person who has had the biggest influence on my life, my mother, Peggy,” he said on receiving the award. “My mother was, and still is, my moral compass. And through my own charitable contributions, I seek to share her strength and courage with with world.”
“She was one of a kind,” he continued, adding, “My mother inspired me and motivated me to be great despite the circumstances.”
Prescott described his mom as selfless and always putting her kids first.

“Obviously, you can just tell [I’m] brightening up, getting the opportunity to just speak about her… [She was] very selfless, hardworking, loved her boys, did anything for her three boys. I am who I am because of my mom,” he said.
Prescott clearly still misses his mom. But it’s also clear she’d be proud of everything he’s done on and off the field. The three-time Pro Bowler is the highest-paid QB in the league and is set to lead the Cowboys back to the playoffs after a tough 2024 season filled with injuries.
