The Dallas Cowboys are looking to bounce back from a rough 2024 season. Getting franchise quarterback Dak Prescott healthy will go a long way toward fixing what went wrong, but they still have work to do in the 2025 NFL Draft.
In PFSN’s latest seven-round mock draft from Brentley Weissman, the Cowboys add two offensive playmakers early to help Prescott, starting with a top receiver prospect.

12) Matthew Golden, WR, Texas
“Dallas has been yearning for a productive wide receiver to play opposite CeeDee Lamb for years,” Weissman wrote. “Dak Prescott was always at his best when he had two legitimate options in the passing game, and I expect the Dallas Cowboys to prioritize this in the draft.
“Matthew Golden is an exciting receiver prospect with few weaknesses. He is smooth and sudden as a route runner and excellent with the ball in his hands. He would be a perfect fit next to Lamb.”
Golden turned heads at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine with a 4.29-second 40-yard dash, the fastest time among receivers and second overall across all positions. Yet, he’s much more than just a deep threat — Golden brings reliable hands and consistency opposite one of the league’s best.
44) Josh Conerly Jr., OT, Oregon
“Josh Conerly Jr. could very well go early in the first round, but he slips a bit here in this mock,” Weissman said. “The Cowboys are getting an athletic pass protector with quick feet and very good balance and punch timing in Conerly.”
Dallas just lost longtime starter Zack Martin to retirement. The 11-year veteran played 162 regular-season games for the Cowboys, ranking 30th in franchise history behind Troy Aikman.
With Prescott coming off a hamstring injury in 2024, solid pass protection will be more important than ever. Adding another starting-caliber offensive lineman, regardless of position, will be critical.
76) Dylan Sampson, RB, Tennessee
With Rico Dowdle leaving in free agency, the Cowboys have a major need at running back. Dylan Sampson has electric speed and great vision. He would give Dallas the home-run threat it desperately needs.
149) David Walker, EDGE, Central Arkansas
David Walker’s shorter frame didn’t stop the relentless 260-pound pass rusher from racking up 10.5 sacks in 2024. A three-time first-team All-American and three-time conference Defensive Player of the Year, Walker also won the 2024 Buck Buchanan Award, making him a potential steal at this spot.
171) Elijah Roberts, DT, SMU
Elijah Roberts made a big impact at SMU in 2024, posting 7.5 sacks, 11 tackles for loss, and two forced fumbles. After struggling for playing time at Miami, he transferred in 2023 and became a defensive leader for SMU over his final two college seasons.
174) Kitan Crawford, S, Nevada
After opening the draft with three straight offensive picks, Dallas follows up with three straight defensive selections.
Kitan Crawford’s 76 tackles (42 solo) and two interceptions, including a pick-six in 2024, highlight his playmaking ability. And after spending his first four college seasons at Texas, he should feel right at home in Dallas.
204) Ty Hamilton, DT, Ohio State
Ty Hamilton worked his way up the defensive ranks at Ohio State and was part of the Buckeyes’ 2024 national championship team. The academic standout posted 3.5 sacks, six tackles for loss, and one forced fumble last season. He’ll look to follow in his brother DaVon’s footsteps and carve out a starting role in the NFL.
211) Jermari Harris, CB, Iowa
Jermari Harris could be a late-round sleeper. A starter since 2021, he has totaled eight interceptions (one pick-six), 19 passes defensed, and four tackles for loss in 42 career games. An ankle injury sidelined him for the entire 2022 season, but he has bounced back strong.
239) Isas Waxter, CB, Villanova
Isas Waxter may need to transition to safety to adjust to NFL speed. The Villanova product plays with more physicality than agility, making him effective at disrupting receivers at the catch point and feisty against the run.
247) Que Robinson, EDGE, Alabama
Que Robinson might be a late-round steal for Dallas. After playing behind stars like Will Anderson Jr. and Dallas Turner, he finally got his shot in 2024, posting four sacks, seven tackles for loss, one forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries in nine games.
