Connor Lew is a center from Auburn who is ranked No. 42 on my NFL Draft Top 100 Big Board. This comprehensive scouting report analyzes Lew’s draft potential, current mock draft trends, and where he ranks among the top prospects.
Connor Lew’s NFL Draft Potential
Connor Lew’s ranking will likely go down a bit on the next update, and there’s a chance he returns to school now that a torn ACL has prematurely ended his 2025 season and placed his pre-draft process in question. At the same time, Lew — who doesn’t turn 21 years old until next August — had high grades this cycle, and could still capitalize as a relatively pro-ready prospect.
At around 6’3″, 303 pounds, Lew has the desired build for the center position. He’s not the heaviest or the most physically imposing, but he has good compact mass to go along with great natural leverage, stellar functional athleticism, and passable play strength. In the passing game, he’s shown he can stay square to rushers and anchor effectively, while in the run game, he’s an incredibly angle-sound, assignment-sound player who does his job, and has the high-level hip flexibility and recovery athleticism to reach landmarks and reposition.
Lew is a well-rounded prospect, but there’s one deficiency in his scouting report: Power. Lew visibly lacks high-end mass and length, and he’s simply not a consistent displacer off the line, nor is he an elite finisher. Lew does his job and does it well with his natural athleticism and leverage, and that alone should make him a potential Top 100 pick if he declares. That said, his athleticism, smooth play style, and malleability comes at the cost of raw force.
CFB Week 9 Update
Connor Lew’s season is over after the Tigers’ starting center suffered a torn ACL against Missouri on October 18. Lew is only a true junior, so there’s a chance he returns to school with the prospect of a major injury muddying his NFL Draft stock. An injury suffered in mid-October would give him an optimistic timeline for being ready to play by the start of the next season, but NFL teams may want to see him return to 100% in contact situations before investing capital.
Either way, Lew has a decision to make. Pre-injury, he was one of the top interior offensive linemen in the class, and teams are still likely to hold him in high regard — but declaring early comes with risks, and he’ll have a role and NIL support waiting for him if he returns.
Where Is Lew Being Selected Most Often in the PFSN Mock Draft Simulator?
Lew currently holds the No. 94 overall rank among prospects, reflecting his standing among mid-round prospects. His most recent Average Draft Position (ADP) of 87.2 as of October 27 reflects that he is typically being selected on Day 2 or early Day 3.
Interestingly, his ADP is higher than his rank, suggesting that users are targeting him more aggressively than his positional ranking might indicate.
Users controlling the New York Giants have been the team that selected Lew the most frequently over the past week, accounting for 1.6% of their picks across all seven rounds.
