Game Prediction

It may seem over the top to describe today’s matchup as a “must win” for the Broncos. But do they really want to head to Miami next week with an 0-2 record, with both losses coming at home? That’s the situation Denver will face with a loss to Washington today.

The Commanders got the win in Week 1 over the Cardinals, but the offense was hardly impressive. 248 total yards and three turnovers at home was not exactly the offense was expected to perform under new offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy.

Washington’s defense remains the strength of this team. The Commanders held the Cardinals to 210 total yards, holding the Arizona offense out of the end zone. And now Washington faces a Denver team that managed all of 260 total yards last week vs. the Raiders.

On the other hand, the Broncos’ defense only allowed 17 points and 261 yards in their loss to Las Vegas. And they are facing a Commanders offense with their quarterback making only his third career start (and his first one on the road).

Regardless of the outcome, it’s difficult to see a lot of points coming in this game. Perhaps the first one to 20 points wins.

But will either team get to 20 points?

Best Bet: Under on 38.5 points (-110 at DraftKings SportsBook)
