The Indianapolis Colts will be hosting a quarterback competition between Anthony Richardson and Daniel Jones. While both players have shown flashes of potential, that isn’t an appetizing enough pitch for fans of the team. However, after being competitive last season, they will be hoping Richardson can take that next step.
If Richardson can fulfill his potential, then the team needs to build out the rest of the roster to fully support him. Last season, Indianapolis’ defense was solid and should show some improvement in 2025.
However, offensively, one analyst believes they have the chance to add a true game-changer.

Indianapolis Colts Predicted To Add Dangerous Weapon for Anthony Richardson
Last season, the Colts barely finished outside the bottom 10 in PFSN’s Offense+ metric. Most of the blame fell on the quarterback situation, with none of the options inspiring a ton of confidence.
However, with a project like Richardson at QB, growing pains were an inevitability. But, the Colts’ pass-catching corps did him no favors, particularly the tight ends. Although the position is an undeniably important aspect of modern NFL offense, Indianapolis didn’t have any true threats.
Their leading receiver at tight end was Kyle Granson (182 yards), as the entire room struggled mightily. As a result, the latest mock draft from PFSN’s Ben Rolfe is pairing Indianapolis with the best tight-end prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft.
“Tyler Warren to the Indianapolis Colts might be the most common player-team pair in mock drafts worldwide. Warren is a fearless competitor, dominant in the run game, and a physical yet savvy receiver with dangerous run-after-the-catch potential.”
While he wasn’t a big part of the Penn State system in his first three years, he exploded onto the scene in his senior year. He tallied a Brock Bowers-esque 104 receptions for 1,233 yards and eight touchdowns.
Additionally, he also became a valuable player on the ground, adding 218 rushing yards and four touchdowns, bringing his score total to 25. “He is a dominant and instinctive playmaker, and his positional versatility makes him a weapon on all three downs, adding to his value at the next level,” Rolfe expanded.
From the Colts’ side of things too, Rolfe made a very clear case. “The Colts desperately need a tight end they can rely on. They have made do at the position for far too long and have a chance to change that this offseason.
“A good tight end changes the dynamic of an offense, both in the run and pass game. Warren is capable of being the full package for the Colts, and he is so highly thought of as a prospect that Indianapolis may need to move up in the draft to secure him.”
A quarterback competition might be what decides the future of the Indianapolis Colts franchise. But Warren should be an irreplaceable part of it.
