With the 2025 NFL Draft quickly approaching, Shedeur Sanders has started scheduling his official top 30 visits. This important step in the pre-draft process allows teams to bring in prospects for meetings, medical evaluations, and private workouts to help them better assess which prospects they want to select.
Sanders, widely regarded as one of the top quarterbacks in this year’s class, has been a focal point of draft discussions for months. As the son of Hall of Famer and Colorado head coach Deion Sanders, his journey to the NFL has been under the microscope, but his play on the field has done plenty of talking.
Now, as draft day draws closer, Sanders is narrowing his focus and beginning the process of meeting with teams that could soon call his name on April 24.

Shedeur Sanders’ First Two Scheduled NFL Team Visits
During a recent workout session, Sanders revealed that he has already scheduled his first top 30 visits, and the first two teams on the list are significant players in this year’s draft order.
In the clip, Sanders casually revealed that his first two scheduled meetings are with the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants, who currently hold the No. 2 and No. 3 overall picks in the 2025 NFL Draft, respectively. Both finished near the bottom of PFSN’s QB+ rankings with their passers en route to top picks in April.
Both teams are in the market for a franchise quarterback, and along with Miami’s Cam Ward, he is viewed by many as one of the top two passers in this draft class and a potential early-Round 1 option.

Adding to the intrigue, Coach Prime confirmed that he has personally spoken with both organizations about his son’s future.
Deion Sanders’ Role in the Process
On a recent episode of The Rich Eisen Show, Deion Sanders made it clear that he has been actively involved in discussions with teams interested in drafting his son.
“(Shedeur’s) really ready to be the face of a franchise,” Deion said. “I think it’s going to be one of the top three, for sure. I’ve spoken to all but one—that’s the Titans. I haven’t spoken to them yet, but he has. But the others I’ve spoken to.”
While it’s common for NFL teams to do extensive research on draft prospects and their families, the involvement of a player’s father—especially one who’s as bold and as high-profile as Coach Prime—is a unique twist. He even made it clear that Shedeur will be selective about where he plays, and certain teams will not be given the chance to draft him.
Shedeur Sanders Is Banned From Playing for Some Teams
Coach Prime previously stated that there are some teams he won’t allow his son to play for, though he has never revealed which ones are off-limits. This isn’t about a coach protecting his player — it’s about a father guiding his son’s future. While Shedeur is handling private visits with teams, Deion has also been in direct contact with organizations as part of the process.
Ultimately, Shedeur and Deion are evaluating teams just as much as teams are evaluating them. The Browns and Giants may be the first two teams to secure visits, but the decision of where the Colorado quarterback will play isn’t solely in the hands of the team on the clock.
