Colorado Buffaloes Send Celebratory 5-Word Message After Having the Most WRs Selected in 2025 NFL Draft

Shedeur Sanders’ slide became the main topic of conversation as far as the Colorado Buffaloes were concerned. But for head coach Deion Sanders, the two-season turnaround wasn’t just a flash in the pan, as the entirety of the 2025 NFL Draft proved. Even with his son’s slide, the program had talent up and down the entire seven rounds.

Moreover, one position in particular became a major talking point. While the class wasn’t seen as elite in the wide receiver department, there was some strong talent to take off the board. However, for the Buffaloes, it was very productive in that regard, with Colorado the program to see the most wide receivers taken in the draft.

Colorado Buffaloes Celebrate Wide Receiver History

A spot typically reserved for blue blood programs, Colorado leading the pack with wide receiver selections was nothing short of monumental for a school that has changed its entire outlook over the course of two years.

Before the Sanders arrived, the Buffaloes won just one game on the year. However, in two years, the two-time Super Bowl Champion turned them into a nine-win juggernaut, with an even brighter future on the horizon.

However, their success at the 2025 NFL Draft wasn’t anything to scoff at. Taking to social media, the Buffaloes posted, “We Ain’t Hard 2 Find,” alongside a buffalo emoji and three wide receivers in the picture – Travis Hunter, Jimmy Horn Jr., and LaJohntay Wester.

Horn Jr. was taken by the Carolina Panthers with the 208th overall pick, while Wester just went five picks ahead at 203 to the Baltimore Ravens. Hunter, on the other hand, was in contention for being the best player in the entire class and went second overall as part of a draft day trade to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

At three, they were at the top. However, their post was a thinly veiled shot at Sanders’ slide, too. Famously, the son of Deion Sanders was the quarterback for Colorado and wore the number two, before it was retired ahead of the draft.

The post clearly mentions the number, a direct reference to Sanders being the man to throw the ball to the Hunter, Horn, and Wester trio. During a historic season for the Buffaloes, he would go on to total 4,134 yards and 37 touchdowns.

Hunter, Wester, and Horn were responsible for over 2,600 yards and 26 touchdowns from that tally, as they built Colorado into a strong offensive unit throughout the year.
