Tee Higgins Highlights 4 Bengals Who Won’t Play Against Chiefs on Sunday

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins left the Week 17 game at Kansas City with a hamstring injury and is doubtful for Sunday's rematch.

CINCINNATICincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins missed his fourth consecutive practice today and is listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium.

Also listed as doubtful are rookie offensive tackle Amarius Mims and tight end Tanner Hudson, while rookie defensive tackle Kris Jenkins has been ruled out.

Jenkins (thumb) and Mims (pectoral) were listed as “OUT” on last week’s injury report, so the doubtful listing suggests some slow progress.

Mims injured his pectoral muscle in the Aug. 10 preseason opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and has been limited in every practice he’s participated in since returning.

Jenkins hurt his thumb in the Wednesday practice leading up to the season opener and had surgery last Friday.

Bengals head coach Zac Taylor initially said there was a chance Jenkins could play against the Chiefs even after having surgery, but the University of Michigan product did not practice all week.

Hudson is dealing with a knee injury. He missed Wednesday’s practice before going limited on Thursday. But Hudson did not practice today.

There were two new additions to the injury report today, with tight end Drew Sample (biceps) and safety Geno Stone (back). Sample was a full participant at today’s practice while Sample was limited.

Neither player has a game designation, so both are expected to play.

For Higgins, this will be the sixth game he has missed due to hamstring injuries, and he’s left four others early after playing 10 or fewer snaps. His absence will create an opening for other receivers on the roster to get more snaps and, possibly, targets.

The Bengals are 1-4 in the five games Higgins has missed due to hamstring injuries, with the lone win coming in Week 18 last year when the Cleveland Browns were resting their starters.

And Cincinnati is 1-3 in the games he’s left early, three of which resulted in him playing 10 or fewer snaps.

In five games without Higgins as a running mate, Chase has averaged 3.5 receptions for 49.7 yards and has caught two touchdowns.
