Christian McCaffrey has been one of the NFL’s top running backs since he entered the league in 2017. A three-time All-Pro and the 2023 Offensive Player of the Year, he’s made a name for himself with his dynamic play on the field. Now, he’s celebrating a significant milestone off the field: becoming a father. McCaffrey and his wife, Olivia Culpo, recently welcomed their baby daughter, and Culpo took to Instagram to share heartfelt messages about their newborn.

This moment marks a significant milestone in the McCaffreys’ lives. Culpo shared photos from the birth on social media, capturing the emotions of welcoming their first child.
One of the photos Culpo shared captured the whirlwind of emotions she experienced during Colette’s birth and how McCaffrey was her rock during the experience.

“The scariest and most rewarding of all experiences. As soon as he came into the room, I felt most at peace. Look at the grip,” Culpo wrote.
Another photo she shared was of McCaffrey holding his daughter in a beautiful, heartfelt moment.

“Colette is so lucky to have the best daddy in the world. A love like no other, ” Culpo wrote.
What Does Fatherhood Mean for McCaffrey’s NFL Career?
The couple tied the knot on June 29, 2024, about a year ago, and now they’ve stepped into parenthood together. While McCaffrey is an NFL superstar, his most important role moving forward will be as a father.
McCaffrey is coming off a rough year with the 49ers. He suffered multiple injuries in the 2024-25 season, causing him to miss 13 of the 17 games. He’s looking to bounce back in a big way this year and now has extra motivation to do so.
The good news for the star running back is that his father, Ed McCaffrey, knows a thing or two about raising children while playing in the NFL. He played 13 seasons as a wide receiver in the NFL, during which time he had not only Christian but also his three brothers, Dylan, Max, and Luke.
The 49ers star can turn to his own father for guidance on balancing the demands of NFL travel with fatherhood. While McCaffrey’s life became more challenging, it has grown even more meaningful.
He’ll enter his ninth year in the NFL this season with the most purpose he’s ever had.
