Rashee Rice is no stranger to controversy. The Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver was suspended for the first six games of the 2025 NFL season for a violation of the NFL’s personal conduct policy. Now, he’s being sued by the mother of his children over an alleged domestic violence incident.
Rashee Rice Sued in Domestic Violence Case
Rice is being accused by his former girlfriend and mother of his children, Dacoda Jones, of domestic violence, and Jones is taking Rice to court. Rice is alleged to have strangled Jones and engaged in violent behaviors, some of which allegedly occurred while Jones was pregnant.
The lawsuit was filed by Jones in Dallas County District Court on Feb. 16, and it alleges multiple occasions of domestic violence by Rice during a period of 18 months from 2023 to 2025.
“Defendant Rice has grabbed, choked, strangled, pushed, thrown, scratched, hit, and headbutted Ms. Jones, as well as hit her with inanimate objects. Additionally, he has engaged in other violent abusive behaviors towards Ms. Jones, including throwing objects, destroying property, punching walls, and breaking furniture, as well as locking her out in the middle of the night,” the lawsuit states.

Jones originally made these claims on Instagram in an attempt to expose Rice’s alleged domestic violence. Now, she’s taken legal action against the father of her children. Rice and Jones have two children together, but they are no longer together. The allegations by Jones are serious and are reportedly being investigated by the NFL for potential discipline.
Rice is in danger of a serious penalty because of his previous history and suspension. His six-game suspension was for pleading guilty to two third-degree felony charges (collision involving serious bodily injury and racing on a highway causing bodily injury).
Rice was involved in a high-speed crash while driving a Lamborghini Urus SUV at 119 miles per hour. The incident occurred on March 30, 2024, in Dallas. The crash resulted in multiple injuries, and after crashing, he was alleged to have fled the scene without checking on the others involved.
On July 17, he was sentenced to 30 days in jail and five years of probation, with the judge allowing Rice to choose when to serve the jail time. Rice also agreed to pay approximately $115,000 towards the victims’ medical expenses.
Now, Rice could be suspended once again, and the Chiefs may have to brace for life without the star wide receiver once again.
